why are our fans JUST NOW after a beat down by #1 UGA coming to the realization that our program has "fallen off"?????
why not the beatdown against the only elite team we played in 2020 Ohio state??
why not the atrocious offensive showing against multiple mediocre opponents in 2021???
why not after a 2022 season where we went ZERO and THREE against the ONLY power5 Out of conference opponents on our schedule???
Why not after the BEATDOWN we took at Duke last year???
Why not after the smoke and mirrors finish in 2023 where our beloved "WIN STREAK" consisted of beating a bunch of 5+ loss teams that just made us "feel better"??
I along with several others have had so many debates and discussions w/ ignorant head in the sand fans over the last 5 years about our issues and have caught a lot of flack for it. To which was fun, but I gave too much credit to the football intelligence of Clemson fans as a whole the last several years. So glad a lot have "come around" and seen underlying crap that has deteriorated our beloved program now...........better late than never i guess. I'm just baffled that it took a beatdown by UGA for people to FINALLY start seeing it.

Just spit balling here but I would say it is because human nature in most people that are emotionally invested in something (that was once elite) do not want to face the realization that the same leadership is no longer willing or able to replicate the past glorious success.

Again your proof that the coaches are not able.
Changes were made. Some areas are improving, is Online. Some are not WR but the Freshmen have not played enough to see if recruiting has improved..
Blanket statements like yours show lack of intelligent, analytical awareness, reason and perspective.

Over a very good Michigan team and off his USC bro's O genius imho since Garrett seems to have no creativity but instead blandness, like his nice personality,..but the main excuse we hear is that he doesn't have the right players to work with.
Well, if that is the case then doesn't that prove that our recruiting needs have been off the mark since talented players can adjust to a different coach if need be.
Truth is the O is bland, no creativity, no passing up and over the middle, etc.
And yes, I totally appreciate Coach Dabo & Staff but they are not producing to high Standards and huge salaries especially in development and creativity.

Agree, most have held out because Dabo has made changes and has proven in the past he can change things. Most people give time and the benefit of the doubt to someone who is proven.

I don’t see this “uproar now” you speak of. Still tons of fans talking about us being on the verge of going back to win another title. And fans arguing against the portal, etc.

I was actually giving Dabo a chance to change.. I was hopeful in him recognizing the new way of college football and conforming to the portal and NIL.
But after this summer of losing 4 star recruits to Duke, Wisconsin, and Miss. It became apparent that he is in denial and actually believes he is doing it right.
I listened to him all summer on how much improved we were and I bought the hype.. then Saturday happened, and we looked like the previous 3 years.
Now anything short of changing assistant coaches , paying NIL to recruits, and use of the portal is a failure on Dabo. Shame on me

I think we've all seen the signs, but Dabo had earned the right to get things fixed, and deserved some time and patience to build things back up after a long stretch of unprecedented success for Clemson football. But, here we are, after an off-season or two that included significant, major changes as well as another year of experience and maturation for some key players, plus the addition of some highly regarded recruits that gave us all hope, and same old result - a terrible offense that sucks out loud and in color.
While I know Dabo (or no coach, for that matter) won't come right out and say that any of his players or coaches just aren't good enough, my concern at this point is that he really doesn't see it. I take some comfort in two things, however. #1 is that Dabo knows a gazillion times more about football than me or any of you other dolts on here. #2 is that Dabo has proven that while he's not quick to pull the trigger, he will make major changes when he has too. We'll see.
I hope we win every single game remaining on our schedule, Cade wins the Heisman, and Dabo wins Coach Of The Year. If not, I'm not bailing (that's not an option). In the mean time, I will continue to come on this Clemson football discussion board and voice my honest opinions on Clemson football.

you see and know where the program stands but the majority of us elect to suffer quietly with the hopes that things are about to get better. I prefer not to go public with constant complaining when it most likely is futile........ but maybe silence is not always golden. All the complaints about Bowden finally took effect. Hoping things don't come to that result. And still looking for an 11-1 regular season!

there needs to be a sit down heart-to-heart discussion with him from "the powers that be"........whether that be the BOT, AD, a non-echo chamber assistant.....whatever and tell him he needs to change his philosophy on the portal/NIL and the way he builds/maintains his roster.
If, after that, he refuses or doesn't............then it may be time to part ways b/c his 2011-2018 ways are archaic and unsustainable in today's world of college football.
I also agree with his principles in theory, but don't use my alma matar's football program as collateral damage to your "cause"...........do it somewhere else!

do with the disaster that is our offense. We aren't close to getting the best out of our talent. We don't have the level and depth of talent as UGA (few if any teams do), but we are much more talented than we showed Saturday, and most of the last few years.

I think most of us genuinely believed Dabo would eventually come around and fix things. I hate to say it, but I don't think I believe that anymore.

Why pheebo ? Because Clemson's 8-7 record against Power 5 schools in our last 15 games has been obscured by these games being spread out over three seasons. That is why.
