Even head coaches. We don’t really know why Dabo held Cade back as long as he did and I don’t think he owes us an explanation either. I wonder how many of you head coach wannabes will chastise Dabo for not installing Cade sooner. I seem to remember Deshaun being installed one or two games too late when he was a freshman. I remember after Dabos second season, a bunch of you were calling for his head. Good thing the AD wasn’t listening to t-netters back then.

He doesn’t owe us an explanation?

So we’re just supposed to pay him his $10.5 million, thank him for gracing us with his presence, and shut up?
That’s not how this works.

Really ridiculous comment there. Dabo has brought more success to this program than any coach in our history. If you listen to other coaches they all model him. Jim Harbaugh, Beamer, Day, and many others. He set the mark.
Did he make some mistakes this year? Yes. But he also had two new coordinators and had to reassemble close to half his staff. I have pushed Cade here many times on this board but I do realize how difficult the timing is throwing a freshman in at QB. As tough as the Coot and ND loss was everyone just needs to chill.
A veil over the offense was lifted tonight and the best is yet to come! ACC. Another Clemson Championship!
Go Tigers!

Oh he will get plenty of questions and criticism. However, don’t kid yourself that we are not lucky to have him. Dabo will be his own biggest critic. If you don’t see that then your perception of the man is different than mine.

According to you, it’s how it works - and that’s for a coach

Cobbox on Brad Brownell: “His only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”
See ? That’s how it works, troll - per you.

Honestly, I don’t think it’s that he doesn’t owe us an explanation.

I think it’s that a true explanation would be difficult without him having to be pretty critical of DJ, which I don’t think he’s willing to do at this point.

What have we learned about Dabo through this? When the world comes against one of His guys, he'll have their 6 to the end. No one in Clemson history has had Clemson world come after them like DJ, other than maybe Hatfield.
Guess what? Current players and recruits want to play for a coach that will have their back no matter what

Bullcrap ...

So, everyone who was right and was told for weeks they were not only wrong but also disloyal and presumptuous now just get dismissed as "head coach wannabes," while the stubborn guy who was wrong gets excused as making a garden variety mistake? Horse crap.
People are missing the boat big time on this. It isn't just a decisions he made and what he did with the QB choice. It's the fact that he went out of his way at every juncture to tell people that they weren't seeing what they were seeing-- he continued that last night after the game. Dabo is a superb program leader- has been and hopefully will continue to be. He deserves loads of gratitude for unparalleled success at Clemson. But given how dishonest and disrespectful he was to the fan base and the critics at large, he deserves all the blow back he gets for this- every last drop of it. That comes with a territory when you're insufferably arrogant about something that you were wrong on.
