Everyone was following the last group. Happens at most tournaments. Everyone spread out early, then they follow the last group when they come through wherever they had set up. Ends up with everyone on #18 at the end.

I know those $1.50 pimento cheese sandwiches are tempting, but these folks really need to limit themselves!

Def seems like a lot more people that the 90’s. Luckily at 6’5” I can see most stuff, don’t know how 5’8” people enjoy it

We noticed that, too. Not only were there more permanent stands, the patrons were about 50 deep in many places. they must have opened up dome more tickets this year.

Just glad the idiots that yell after every tee shot were able to get tickets…

It got to where on Sunday if you found a good spot, better not move or you'd be having to hop ahead four or five holes to get another spot and even that was chancey. That was in 2001.
Now that I'm older, I'd rather just watch it on the tube. Amazon Prime did a good job of live-streaming the tourney this year. Really enjoyed their programming.

The crowds have definitely gotten larger. I went this year with a friend whose company does all of the construction management for Augusta, and while we were walking around he commented on how many more people were there ......something the Augusta National will never comment on. My theory is that the Masters, other than of course the Championship, is all about the fan (patron) experience. In the past, they just did not have the infrastructure to handle larger crowds. The course itseld could have accomodated many more, but the concession stands and bathrooms just would not. They did not want their patrons standing in line forever. When you go to the restroom now, there are lines but they are always moving ..... probably even the women's facilities. Same with the concession stands. My friend told me that now even the beer and soft drinks come to the concession facilities in tubes rather than having to stock containers in the concession area. There are also a number of tunnels around the clubhouse area that you would never know about. It is an amazing place.
The best year ever, for me, was the covid year where the crowd was very small and the viewing stands were not even erected.
