Maybe im naive but why so much hate for ND? Bc they don’t join a conference?

It's like the Yankees... You love or hate them. I like them more so now than in the past.... Kelly wasn't likeable, neither was Weis .. I didn't mind the others and liked Holtz.
Really like Freeman.

As for the conference stuff, people get bent over it but until they are forced by the rules they don't have too. Most schools just don't have the bargaining power ND has.

I like ND's coach better than Franklin, so I pulled for ND as the lesser of two evils. I hope they win it all to keep the SEC and Big 10 from winning.

They get special treatment. It’s complete bs. Now that it’s 12 teams they will practically be a shoo in every year where every other team has to win a conference to be assured a spot

Living off the past and their name often gives them a bump in things like preseason polls which then sets them up as the season progresses. Kinda like the SEC...
