1) GREAT WIN.
2) Dvoracek said the word “physicality” at least 5 times during the broadcast.
3) Mafah was PUNISHING people he knew would make contact with him.
4) Keith Adams Jr. can move a pile.
5) Our DBs committed PI partly because they arrived on lock so early. They’re speedy and with improving discipline will continue to rack up INTs.
6) Receivers are starting to look the part of a Playoff offense.
7) Cade had a couple wild throws, but he’s getting more disciplined in the pocket and had the time to read his checks and take off if need be. He’ll have to make those decisions faster against better teams, but this is great training for later.

And through it all, we played mostly clean (minus the PIs and some clunky flow early on) and looked good in both the X & O and Jimmy & Joe departments. Meanwhile, Bama loses to Vandy then struggles with Sakerlina at home, UGA struggles w MSU, etc.
We’re improving.

This morning, I watched the replay of Clemson vs Wake 2023 game.
If you get a chance to do this (you can find the full game replay on YouTube), then you’ll see the enormous improvement in the ‘little’ things that has contributed to CK2’s dramatic improvement.
To be fair, our OL was unsettled for the Wake game in 2023; Parks was out and T.Leigh displayed his not-yet-fully-ready abilities. B.Miller had not gotten his pass protection technique down yet.
2023 WR Corp was considerably weaker, also; remember that A.Williams was out for the year by last year’s Wake game.
All together, the difference between 2024 vs 2023 for our offense’s performance can be easily diagnosed by watching the 2023 Wake game again. Even with our much better OL and WR play, our year vs year improvement on offense would be modest had CK2 not evolved so much.
