It's just a reality. Clemson has failed to win its last 5 home regionals and its last 10 total regionals. That accounts for every year since the CWS run in 2010 with the exceptions of 2020 (COVID), 2021 (didn't make the tournament), and 2022 (didn't make the tournament)). I've noticed a lot of people on TNET seem to get angry when fans act "scared" or express any level of concern about the team's chances of winning. But as much as we all may dislike it, there is, at the very least, an unfortunate pattern of occurrences in the NCAA tournament for Clemson baseball going back almost 15 years now. So until the Tigers can get over the regional hump, I think some level of nervousness is very understandable. I'm not trying to be a doomer who keeps harping on this, as I think this team is absolutely capable of winning this regional at the very least. They are the highest seed after all, and they're the best team on paper. But sometimes these sports "curses" become more of a mental thing, and until a team proves they can overcome a troublesome hurdle, results shouldn't be taken for granted. I say all of this as a Clemson baseball fan who desperately wants this regional loss streak to end. All of those home regional losses are the most painful part of sports fandom for me in my lifetime. So it's not that I'm trying to speak it into being, it's just that it would be naive of us to ignore the recent history of Clemson baseball, as painful as it may be. Hopefully that all changes this weekend. Go Tigers!
