"I love this place, I've got a spot already picked out where I want 'em to put me when I die - up there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays; then I won't have to go Heaven; I'll already be there."- Frank Howard

GRIT

Proud of this team for fighting through another close call and showing the GRIT to finally get the W in a close one!!

Excellent play in OT. Good ball control, smart passing, breaking the press and avoiding turnovers unlike recent close games. I believe these last 5 games will help this team mature, learn valuable lessons and gain confidence going into ACC play.

Go Tigers!!

While it’s frustrating, and likely costly in the big picture, to have given away a few of these early-season games, agree this is a team that will make big strides as the year goes on. They play good, entertaining hoops. They defend well and they shoot and move the ball better than any Clemson team in recent memory.

And while I’m sure Aamir Simms did a lot things that may have gone under the radar, PJ Hall’s production has made that loss insignificant. His upside is tremendous.

There’s also neat connection between Collins and Naz, the team plays on another level when Dawes is engaged (and I noticed him being much more vocal on Saturday), seeing Hemenway find his shot is huge, and Honor showed a willingness to step up in critical moments.

All in all, a solid win. Need two more this week to close out the non-league season on a high note and build momentum going into ACC campaign. Gong to need to steal a few in-conference games to get back into the NCAA picture.

Really happy for the boys pulling that one out.
