Reclaiming Past Glory
Can Clemson's tight ends regain the form showed by Dwayne Allen and Brandon Ford just a few years ago? Injuries have taken their toll on that group, but Stanton Seckinger and Jordan Leggett think the group is primed for a breakout season. Full Story » |

Great read, but

I'm just not worried about it. We have great talent there. It is evident that our talent at WR gets better by the year. Why throw the ball 10-15 yards if you have wide open WR 40 yards down field?

You don't get wide open WRs 40 yards down the field unless you throw 10-15 yard passes as well. See: Mark Whipple and Jacory Harris.

Reclaiming Past Glory - No Chance For Leggett
Aug 31, 2015, 11:14 AM

Jordan Leggett is an above average receiver for a TE but he can't (doesn't) block worth a #$%&*. He won't even get a sniff from the NFL unless he learns how to block this/next season. I am hopeful that Cannon Smith, Milan Richard, and Garrett Williams restore Clemson's legacy of outstanding TEs going forward.

Does anybody remember the name of the #### that injured Seckinger last season then bragged about it on twitter? I hope he has the Clemson game circled as his last.

Seckinger can't block and only makes every other catch.

I'm not trying to be a ####, but if you want to see the limits of kid's talent, watch Seckinger block. It's pitiful.

Skewed perception! Clutc pass catcher and has worked on his

blocking! Give a guy a chance to improve, and he has never had any problem with his pass catching - best clutch receiver we have had at tight end. How many other receivers have won games with last minute receptions in last couple of years!

I thought there was some talk of using Skeckinger as a wr some this year. He may be hard for some db's to cover.

I'm sorry to see a story about reclaiming past glory without resurrecting the name of Bennie Cunningham. The man was a "beast"!

Tight end production whether blocking or receiving has been the last piece of the puzzle for the Tigers. With this piece clicking there is not a defense that can hold up to this kind of offensive firepower. Each team the Tigers play will have to pick their poison which is not an envious position. The Tigers have the players, they have the plays, they have Death Valley, now the pressure is only on the coaching staff to lead, push the focus for every play, have the team ready and don't take the foot off the gas. It other words: It's time to make your statement, to make your mark, to put your stamp on what's to come.
