Actually VCU has more $NIL than UVa, but this was like home to him growing up there.

VCU donors can't come close to matching what UVA donors can do for NIL $$$. UVAs problem is (1) they care more about non-revenue sports (and have football to try and support), (2) they have more stringent academic requirements, and (3) they need an AD who can engage those donors, specifically someone like Paul Tudor Jones, which is somewhere their current AD is failing.
