hard to follow which one is him. Can't really see the numbers and they don't highlight, and he isn't their full time LT it seems but plays it sometimes. But I didn't see anything overly impressive.

OK. I watched it again. Here are my notes:
In the first highlight he pulls and has a non-factor block on a big run. The block is on a LB that the RB had already passed but he did show good quickness to get in the way. The LB may have been able to make the play if Morris was a little slower to the block.
The 2nd highlight is a great block where he carries a defender about ten yards. Seems like the defender was a little undersized though.
The third play he has a decent block for a while on #90 and eventually the RB cuts back and his man makes the play (or should have) the RB eventually breaks the tackle of 90 and another player and scores.
The next play he seems to have a good seal block but the RB eventually runs into him and the player he is blocking for a loss of yards. He probably should have been able to seal a little better and allow for a larger hole. It is difficult to tell. After looking at it again, he definitely gets pushed around a little.
Next he is playing RT and makes a good block. Not overpowering but uses DLman's momentum against him.
The last play is hard to tell where he starts, all I can see is him at the end of the play.
My conclusions are is that he seems to have decent feet, and has a TON of room to fill out. He definitely needs to gain strength and has the frame to do it. Definitely a project, and probably never going to be a LT, definitely a RT

coach from, obviously not a freshman starter, maybe playing time as a RS soph. What I can't see is his demeanor. doesn't seem to be very nasty in finishing blocks with an attitude, but really, he has size, and a good enough base of skills to become a good O-lineman down the road if he does the right things when he gets to Clemson.

He looks really slow to me. I project him as a RT, not quick enough to pull as a guard. However, I wonder how he will be able to handle DE's that are much quicker. He doesn't have much push either. I hope he gets stronger and they work on him. He looks like a project though, which isn't what we need on the OL. Crowder and Droogsma are really important now in my eyes.

I definitely picked up on that, and I was in total agreement too. Not the guy I see the Chad choosing honestly.

I was more responding to the guy that said he couldn't see the video and how did he look. I just wanted to say "terrible" but thought describing what I was thinking would be better before I got reamed by everyone on the board.

ESPN and Rivals will probably eventually make him a low 3* as well.

It is an odd set-up, but there were a handful of highlights that just each got their own video segment.

I would say that a blanket statement insinuating that everyone on this board doesn't know football is more ignorant. But that's just me.
Why is the football IQ low?

We currently have 15 OL on scholarship
Jul 30, 2012, 3:53 PM
|

It seems to me that that is about the number that we have always kept for the OL. We lose one senior so, we should take one this year, maybe 1-2 more to keep us on the high end instead of the low end.
Since OL has been a priority the last couple of years, we don't need a freshman to step up and play next year. Sure it would be nice, but not necessary given our numbers.
Sincerely, Couch Coach Neal in NC

this kid is 16- a year younger than most SRs and 2 years

younger than some. He will RS, and is still growing. The coaches obviously see potential in him. People wondered the last last 2 times we took players that looked like this, were rated low and were very young for their HS class. Barry Richardon and Chris Hairston ring a bell.
