Took awhile, but I am glad Coach is making these moves.

Like most of us have said all along, the results of the FB team in win or losses all of it falls directly on the shoulders of our HC, and it's up to him to decide what coordinator or position coaches that's not doing their job to his standards. But without a doubt all hirings and replacing coaching that leaves or quits is on Dabo's shoulders because no one under him can hire, fire or replace a coach. With all these new hires that Dabo is now doing seems like our HC was neglecting his responsibilities...

It’s valid to implement a different strategy without having “neglected your responsibilities”.

Dabo had a lot of success with his earlier appointees like Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott during 2015 thru 2018. Perhaps he thought other younger coaches (some also former Clemson guys) would bear fruit like their predecessors, but it turned out they were too green.

He recognized the shortcomings and has made what I consider to be great choices in new coaches starting with Matt Luke and Chris Rumph last year. I think when he saw the tremendous improvement in quality and play that group of players displayed in such a short timeframe that more seasoned coaches could bring us back to the top of the mountain again.

“Neglecting his duties” would be if Dabo did not evaluate that improvement and make the requisite changes.

It’s easier to get to the top of the mountain than to stay there.

I see where you are coming from but it shouldn't take 3 years to "see if it's gonna work", it should've been a one and done just like it was with Streeter. He is the only one that wasn't given more than enough time to fail and keep failing. The D rankings dropped by 10+ spots EVERY YEAR since CBV left. That is unacceptable to say the least. I love Dabo and trust Dabo but he gives way too long of a leash for these project coaches. As bad as our ST has been for years the same coach is still coaching them. It's hard to watch sometimes but Dabo is the HC and all we can do is give our opinion and hope he feels the same way.

The issues go deeper than the internal hires. Not using the portal to bolster our roster at a spot or two each year put us at a talent disadvantage. Refusing to pay competitive upfront NIL also negatively impacted our roster . Seems he has adjusted on all fronts but was reactive rather than proactive.

In Dabo’s defense, very few coaches can keep their program at the top after a NC run. Basically only Nick on that list. I am hoping the changes Dabo has made will allow us one more run to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately history is against us as coaches like Dooley, Ford, Brown and Bowden were only able to climb to the top for one run.

I think some of you guys need to look at Dabo differently. He has always been loyal to the players he recruited. He wants to develop his guys his way. He doesn't like to pick and grab and hope they work out. i.e FSU... If he could pull guys from the portal that they recruited then maybe but this is a whole different landscape and he was so against paying for play because it wasn't right for his guys that he's put so much time into. Everyone wants us to just go dive in and grab players. Do you think Clemson could have pulled Caleb Downs out of the portal? We recruited him, that kid wanted more than he was getting at Alabama and Ryan Day and Co were readily available to pay him.

Spring in 17 days, 29 days to junior day in which we have a bunch of gooduns coming in. Some will get offers, some will hopefully give their pledge to commit. But as we all know, until the ink dries it's not a commitment.

Otherwords, bb and staff ain't the only one's crushing it. Dabo 2010's is back baby on a vengeance tour. Buckle up cause we're coming for bucknuts and dawgs in 200 days 😤. Cause I ain't worried about those paper tigers and frown clown coach.

I sure hope so, but we all know that even when the ink dries there could be some that don't understand what commitment actually means.

Thanks for the story David! Exciting days ahead!

One question I do have is why are these unpaid additions? Is there a limit to the number of paid coaches on staff? These aren't young guys looking for an opportunity to break in, so hoping you can shed some light. Appreciate you as always!

Both Houston and Galloway are set to receive buyouts from previous employers that likely have offsets that would pay less based upon new salaries. By taking unpaid positions we are essentially making ECU and UNC pay their salaries this year. Starting next season I would imagine if they remain they would receive a salaried position as both buyouts end in Deecember.

Hard to beat experience. Hopefully this translates into more focus and commitment each and every game. I heard of an office staff where the majority retired around the same time. The tech minded young ones get out of my way at quitting time it's not my job there are new ways to doing things took over and before you know it folks had no job. Sometimes there is a lot of value in grey hair coffee drinking been taught the importance of hard work and respect generation.
Here's to good things happening for the Tigers in the year ahead.

That's why they get paid the big bucks at schools like Clemson. They have to produce wins or they will be gone. Most likely in less than 5 years, at best, they will be looking for another job.

News from USuC...
"Richardson was the 20th Gamecock arrested since Spurrier was hired in Nov. 2004"

Fluxus®
"As I watched the game yesterday I couldn't help but feel crushed. We beat Furman by 4 TDs, but to me it looked like we got whipped."

"George Bush, we are reliably informed by the media, has the IQ of a moron, though how he matriculated from Yale and Harvard or flew an F-106 will remain an unexplained mystery. Doubtless his father bribed the airplane to fly itself."

Where's Dabo getting these guys that are willing to work for free??

Experienced coaches tend to be experienced for a reason, which is that they know what they're doing and have been able to make a career out of it. Nobody should be making their career debut as a coach with a program like Clemson.

Maybe some of these new high priced coaches can enlighten dabo on how to beat the coots. Losing to them the last 2 out of 3 years is unacceptable!
