I have it on good authority from the science loving left that obesity is a natural and beautiful thing and physical fitness is nothing more than a white nationalist dog whistle. Sounds like Bernie may be a closeted fascist what with his apparent disdain for fat kids.

Diet is a problem. No doubt about it. Lazy parents stuff their kids faces full of fast food and junk food because it’s easy and they say “it’s all I can get my kids to eat”. Bull crap! Let the kids kid hungry enough and they will eat the green beans or whatever you put in front of them. That’s not abuse , it’s parenting. Make them skip 2 or 3 meals. Make them skip a day or two and watch them eat.
The other part is movement. Most kids sit with their technology devices and move very little. Take the stuff away from the kids and make them learn how to play again. Adults need to move more as well. We have become a lazy sedentary society. I read somewhere that the average American adult gets about 3000 steps per day. Crap you should get that many going to the fridge and bathroom!

Time and money. It's faster and cheaper to eat much of that unhealthy food at the store, or often fast food, that is bought to feed a bunch of people at once.

on 3 dinners a week. drives me nuts.
Our philosophy is to try and feed them what they'll eat, but go out of our way to ensure it's not the overprocessed really shiddy versions of it...
i.e. homemade cheese sauce w/ organic ingredients and organic ancient grain elbow noodles for the mac and cheese; ancient grain flour and organic ingredients for their muffins in the morning
she only eats ####### carbs (i.e. bread / pasta) and it drives me ####### insane. and specifically, only the "yellow" mac and cheese (so like, alfredo / pesto / spaghetti is out).
doing my best to just stay calm, and if she don't eat, IDGAF, be hungry.

But I also don’t understand how you being fat and sick should affect my insurance rates.
On a typical day I have 7000 steps before 6am. And typically end with about 15-18000. So why can’t I get an insurance premium that rewards me for being healthy?
