We are #3 in the AP and #6 in the coaches poll. If you look a bit deeper at the USA Today poll, we are actually very close to the #4 and #4 teams in terms total points despite our #6 ranking. Notre Dame is #9 in each poll, and in terms of total points, they are extremely far behind us.
Also, while our defense clearly hasn't dominated this game, our offense has played lights out nearly all day. We have scored on all but 3 possessions, and we are on pace or 700 yards of offense at this point. We can easily win this game by at least 3 scores. I don't see us moving down and there is absolutely ZERO chance that the Irish jump us. I'm practically willing to bet everything I own on that.
It was great how dominant we were against Miami last week, but remember it was only a little more than a month ago when we were playing Louisville on the road in a close game. Many people would say that the Wolfpack are close to the Cardinals, and we are on the verge of blowing them out at their homecoming. It's like some fans expect us to win 50-0 every week.
