Exactly if you want to play us as most as possible join the acc and help make more money for the conference!! Give us some leverage to maybe get a new deal with ND part of football. We will see tho we should have got them COVID year when they needed the ACC but didn’t make them sign crap.

I don’t think we play any conferences every year so joining the ACC would not help

ND IS soon going to be shut off by SEC AND BIG scheduling any games with ND. Those 2 conferences are going to start interconference scheduling and are tired of ND using them and contributing nothing to their conference by joining one of them. So ND is going to have few top teams to play. Screeew ND. They want to play Clemson every year, join the ACC conference. Otherwise, the ACC should also quit playing them.

The SEC is smarter than the ACC admins. They won’t be used.

We currently get $3M every year based on their partial conference membership

Pitched this to Jack last several years, glad Pete is finally considering. Marcus is not onboard so doubt it would happen as they want to keep him happy.

How clever of ND.
Lock in a bunch of games (via contract, with pre-set big $$$ buyout per game) and then wait to sue the B1G (more likely) or SEC (less likely) forces cancellation of one / several games.
Then ND sues Clemson for the per-game buyout -&- sue B1G / SEC for tortious interference in a business arrangement. I’m no lawyer; just slinging out some legal terms that I don’t understand (but they sound good, eh?).

I respect Notre Dame as a football program and as a university. It would be great to play them annually.

They aren't really self sufficient. The are conference members in all other sports, and have a 5 game scheduling agreement with the conference. That's not really self sufficient.

But if we are talking about all sports, the parasite criticism still doesn't make sense as they are an ACC member in all non-football sports.

We are talking football. You said they were self sufficient and I just said they're not. Because it's true objectively they are not self sufficient. Even if you wanna limit the football, They have the 5 games scheduled with the ACC, so that's not self sufficient.

Self sufficient... But part of the deal for their other sports to play in the ACC was for them to make a concession to play 5 conference teams.
They might need us now moreso, but when the agreement was made . They did the ACC more of a favor than the other way around.

1 FCS and 1 more P4 game?

It would not be 1 more P4 game bc at that point

You would need the other 2 non-conference games to be home games every year to ensure our 7 and no P4 team would ever agree to not getting a return game.

If we play them every year we would end up never playing major out of conference games beyond SC and ND in the regular season. We already have eight ACC games, and with those two that’s ten against ALMOST P4 teams. Adding one more and facing 11 would be a little much given that nobody else schedules that way. Could be an every few years thing

Nope. See ND is starting to hurt for games against quality P4 opponents with the PAC going away and the Big 10 playing 9 conference games and possibly 10 in the future. Get your ##### into a conference ND.
