My point is that the smart a$$ comment didn't NEED to be said. As most Momma's always said, if you can't say something nice or positive, just keep your mouth shut!
I interpreted it as negative with a smiley face and not really necessary!

take one for the team bro.
Certainly nice to see a better OL. IMO it has been our weakest link for the last decade or more. They've often been undersized but not any more. We've been recruiting bigger and our S&C program seems to be doing amazing work in the weight rooms.

For quite a few years we had better than average "skill position" players. We have always done a pretty good job recruiting them. To me, our losing streak to USC (and others) was ALL about the lines of scrimmage!
Dabo realized this fairly early on and was determined to change this. We usually had one or two "better than average" offensive lineman. But, Dabo realized that wasn't going to cut it. It took him a couple of years to get our starting line to the quality it needed to be. He also started recruiting lineman with an attitude. On game day, they have a mean streak and it shows. But, in today's game, you have to have great back-ups too. Now, it is to the point where if we have to rest a player or, God forbid, we have an injury, there is a quality back-up that can step right in!
Success brings recruits. We have started putting lineman in the league. Before, we mostly got 2 and 3 star lineman. Now we can go after 4 and 5 star recruits.......and GET them! Hyatt is a beast, one of the best in the country. Our offensive lines now remind me of the past Stanford lines. They not only have great size, but they can move too. And, most importantly, they gotta be smart. We have the trifecta.
BTW, replace the word "defensive" for "offensive" in the above rant and that is true too. The upgrade to both lines has made all the difference in the world. Thanks Dabo and Coach Caldwell for coaching 'em up! GO TIGERS!!

It seems like for years we've been struggling for consistency on the O-line. It is fantastic to get back to this point. Coach Caldwell doesn't get a lot of the headlines, but he has been a fantastic hire for the team.

Our offensive line certainly made some great progression last year, but #1 in the nation? Unfortunately that's just wrong. We're probably a Top 10 line, but let's get real folks, we couldn't get an inch against Bama on run plays. Same with BC and Florida State (though we started getting good yardage in the second half).
We've got a long way to go in order to be the best offensive line in the nation. Keep ####### working.
