But they never do. Entitlement spending will bankrupt the country but they will have weeks of hearings on college sports.

They should be made employees. They will be receiving revenue directly from the Universities for playing football. That's their job.

Privatization and spinoffs. Teams and their facilities will be sold to billionaires, private equity concerns, and fan-funded collectives (see NIL). Colleges will get back to education and start being accountable for student outcomes and their overpriced tuition. I mean a fella can dream, right?

While we are at it, just let companies hire based on IQ, skills and psyche tests and the need for 80% of higher education evaporates in an instant. We need more apprenticeships and training and less conformance signaling. GenZ+ is not going to put up with losing 4 of their most productive years to an obsolete credential mining system.
