Irish will NOT surrender Tier 3 TV rights. ACC has those folded into its contract. i.e. Irish will not join ACC

Notre Dame to the ACC will never happen.

They would give up Michigan State, Michigan, The Real USC, Stanford and Oklahoma on their schedule. Many of these have been on their scedule for years and are considered rivals. I suspect the big money Notre Dame fans would hate being in the ACC and will never let this happen. ND would also be a big pain in the @ss if they did join. They always seem to expect special treatment from everyone.

But history with some other as well like Pitt.

The ACC had their chance last Summer and blew it! Because of the new ESPN contract ND will not join and lose their tier three revenue. The Big 12 is already offering those same rights and a partial membership til 2015.

Penn State would be a nice addition, but their alumni won't hear of leaving the Big 10 despite what some want behind the scenes.
