I don't know when he started, but I first heard him around 1958, sitting in my '55 Chevy, drinking beer and listening to Randy's Record Mart and WOWO in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

He was one of the artists like Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed and other original blues greats played regularly on those stations.
