For those that say NIL deals do not affect play on the field? On November 7th

the State Newspaper published an article about SC Defensive end Dylan Stewart getting a huge NIL deal to stay at SC. Up until that time he was an unholy terror on the football field, disruptive and destined for greatness. Since that date, I don't remember his name being mentioned on a broadcast as making a TFL or Sack, or even a tackle. It has an effect on these young kids, plain and simple, and it is not a positive effect either.

As I've heard many times in my lifetime that money is the root to all evil, so I guess down falls can be included.

Money is also the root of all good. With money you can feed thousands, build shelters, buy medicines, pay for cancer research grants, pay for St. Jude’s and Shriners charitable causes, etc. Money is whatever you make it. I’ve had none before and I’ve had a lot before. The amount I had usually followed whatever preconception I had about life, money and faith during that time period.

It is true, as you insinuated, that some people get some money and lose ambition. They didn’t have all the core principles aligned and envisioned that they need to pursue a greater cause once some money was acquired.

Maybe he broke up with his girlfriend
Maybe opposing coaches picked up something from his film
Maybe he hit the freshman wall
Maybe he had a illness/injury
Maybe he has family issues

I’m not a fan of how NIL is impacting CFB, but this Tnet belief that NIL is the cause of every problem in the world is tired.
