Is he a DB or RB? I will admit I only got half way thru his video but a lot of ball returning and RB work.

He's a safety according to Rivals. Makes one wonder what's going on under the surface with Surtain, a 5* cornerback target. Didnt remember we were looking for another safety. Looks real solid though.

He committed to Auburn late July and then we offer. This isnt too unusual but Ive often wondered if the player has let it be known he's interested in a particular school that hasn't offered. I would think if we had a lot of interest we would have offered before he committed to Auburn. I'm having a little problem with completely expressing my question. Does anyone get my point.

... Otherwise why go thru these motions? The 2019 class will need to be big, I hope we have a good season and extend our recent run of excellent recruiting at least for 2018/2019!
Go Tigers, man I am getting old waiting for the season to start.

If it were another school, we might have a chance but since it's AU, I suspect he's already cashed the check.

Sherwood does a good job with picking his way through coverage, and it's bc he doesn't out run his blockers. That is the biggest mistake I believe ball handlers do the most!!!

In recruiting, look below the surface

Why would we wait until after he has verballed? Possibly because our coaches dont want him. Recruiting is all about relationships. If our coaches see some younger kids that look promising, how do we get in there to start building that? There are strict rules that we have to follow but if youre there for a rising senior, you just might be able to get a jump on some younger teammates that you couldnt contact otherwise. The rising senior is sold on and verballed to one school. You dont really think he fits your scheme but offer him anyway because of the low probability that he would really decommit for a school that didnt give him a sniff before he verballed. Hs coaches and families can be difficult to deal with. To be a top flight program and consistently bring in major talent, recruiters have to maintain good relationships with coaches. That goes double if it is in-state.
