Russia and Ukraine are two of the largest producers of wheat in the world. We're currently not trading with one of them and the other is currently being invaded. Any shortages associated with this are a problem for the world, not just the US.

What do you think Biden could/should have done to avoid this? It seems he's bringing it up now as a way to get leaders and producers from around the world(and the US) to plan and take actions to help with the potential problem. Is that not what you'd expect him to do?

So no answer then?

To be clear, I don't consider myself to be aligned to any particular party. I'm not a huge Biden fan and think we could do much better with our leader than what we've done over the last several years. I just don't like throwing blame on the President(this includes when Trump was in office) for every single problem in the world without any reasoning to support the problem was either caused by them or that the probably was caused by something they didn't do that they should've done. With that way of thinking we might as well blame the next tornado or hurricane on Biden.

fertilizer price increases (due to shortages) and other inflationary issues in the economy. As far as wheat goes - I don't know that the shortages coming out of the Russian-Ukraine war is going to affect the USA as much as other places. The US exports way more wheat than we import. If anything - we may export less in order to cover our own needs resulting in food shortages elsewhere around the globe.
