We are just keeping the ACC on their toes. I like Judge Cooper, he’s going to end up helping us and FSU.
He’s a common sense guy.

I knew what he meant, I watched much of it the other day.
The ACC will settle with us and FSU because they don’t want to have chance the could lose everything.
They want to drag it out until Aug when the new schools become official so they won’t be below the numbers of schools they had when the contract was signed, plus they have more to help them with a vote if needed.

I just don’t see why they have a reason to settle. If they settle anyone else can get the same deal.

Because everyone would see what was in the contract that won’t stand up.
And the ESPN contract.

So again, why did schools sign on for a contract without knowing

all that was in it to begin with? That’s the one stick in my craw with these college presidents. Why?

That's why discovery is so important.

No one knows what went on between Swofford and ESPN and no one knows what Swofford was telling the presidents at the time.
So no one knows why the presidents agreed to the contract.

If Clemson and FSU announce before June 31, they will fall below 15 and ESPN can negotiate a new deal or worse.

June 31st? Is that some kind of SEC calendar that just means more? 😉

ESECPN will still make them sweat before agreeing to the existing contract with the ACC, and they will most likely offer them the same contract, but for less money with Clemson and FSU moving out bc, with the only two premier teams gone, the ACC would be worth less as a money maker in college sports. I hope that Clemson will be moving out along with FSU

Allorange, I could see ESPN leaving the $$ the same when Clemson and FSU are replaced with the TX and west coast schools. They may not have the TV football draw individually but they are bringing in a huge new TV footprint.

The “Clemson motion to stay discovery”?
Clemson isn’t involved in the FL case directly as a plaintiff, right?
And if meant as possessive, why would Clemson want a motion to stay discovery? They would want that to continue, right?
Is that a typo?

Wasn’t the contract with the ESPN only signed by the ACC brass? Once the GoR was in place, the ACC office had the right to negotiate a media contract and the later amendments. Notice how the delay in ESPN deciding on the option was kept mostly between Phillips and ESPN?
