Time will tell if they all come play for the TiGERS.

Sad as it is, times have changed where a man’s verbal & handshake is over.

Even Coach Howard had a great RB in the early 50’s named Larry Zonka(?) from up north quit in midstream while on a train to Tigertown even after Coach had sent him a free train ticket.

Story goes that Larry got off train in D.C. during a rest stop, called Mom to check in, she said to get off that train and take the 1st train back since FB Coach at Syracuse had offered him a schollie to play FB.

The rest is history..Larry was a prolific runner there and later with the Miami Dolphins..

And Coach Howard never got over this loss!

Larry Csonka was in a short-lived play called Larry Csonka and the Chocolate Factory that was on Broadway. He also played one season with the Memphis Southman of the World Football League that folded.

Can we try to remember that some (if not most) of the recruits who...

decommit may have been invited to withdraw their commitment due to bad behavior or grades or violation of conditions Dabo sets forth to guild them on the straight and marrow?

How delightful it is to think that these guys can go somewhere else where their frailties can be overlooked or ignored and that we won't suffer the pain of losing them after passing on others in their capacity on and off the field.

I don't fret when a kid decommits; I figure it's just a rip the bandaid off moment, the pain is over quickly and the realization that the wound is healed.

I heard Czonka speak in Anderson probably 15-20 years ago. Avid outdoorsman! He and Coach Howard did share a spittoon on a recruiting visit back in the day in Howard's office. 99% sure to hear Czonka tell the story is that his girlfriend at the time was headed to Syracuse. Cute chicks will sway a man's allegiances for sure.
