have known people who have went there. Went down to 5 points during my college age years and witnessed the behavior of coot students first hand. The coot grads that are successful, are ones with degrees in international business and medical degrees. All the other ones basically went there for the reasons I listed already. Watch the news 79LawCock. Robberies, gun shootouts, and rapes are a common occurrence on SCU's campus. You can drive through the hood (oops I mean SCU's campus) any day, and you can see coot students who haven't taken a shower or put clothes on that aren't even anywhere close to half decent.

so as I said above, would you consider me getting a job at one of the biggest engineering firms in the country right out of school unsucessful?? Along with about 95% of engineers that I graduated with that also either got jobs or went to graduate school.
I was there for 4 years and saw nothing there that I didn't see from any other students at any other college I visited while I was in school, including Clemson, UNC, NC State, and Duke.

I've been to other college campus' and the white trash behavior of coots is second to none. Like I said before, stick to enjoying your recent wins over us in Football and Baseball instead of talking academics and the behavior of your students. Keep up with the news in cootlumbia, and you would know that robberies, gun shootouts, and rapes are common on SCU's campus.

with any intelligent can tell that I meant that the international business degree and medical degrees have far higher success rates than other degrees at SCU. That doesn't mean you can't have success with those other degrees at SCU, it's just that it's more unlikely that you will have success. From living in the cootlumbia area my whole life, I have known far too many coots that have degrees outside of those two programs that I have mentioned, that have gotten nothing from their bachelor degrees. A lot of coot grads have to get an associate degree from Midlands Tech to be able to find a job that keeps them from being in the working poor.

Bowers is a more complete DE than Clowney…..
Mar 5, 2013, 12:04 AM
|
|
Clowney will have to add some weight, be more consistent, and get better against the run to play DE in the NFL, if not he will be a OLB in a 3-4 defense. Having said that, Clowney is a great player, but the flaws I have just mentioned are never brought up about him. If you watched the whole of SCU's games, there were a lot of games where Clowney was non existent. Sure Clowney had a lot of sacks, but between those sacks there were a lot of disappearing acts. But you're a coot fan so you don't know enough about football to realize those kinds of things.

You are partly correct

- he will have to add more weight - but he's now up to 273 pounds which is perfectly fine for a player his size with his speed - who still is a sophomore.
Jason Pierre Paul is a player that Clowney is often mentioned alongside- and Paul plays at 280 for the Giants. Clowney is taller than Paul (and faster) -and has received a ton more publicity than Paul did at similiar stages of their college careers.
Football playesr always have to be more consistent and Clowney is certainly no exception. His coaches have said that repeatedly.
I disagree on there "were a lot of games where Clowney was non existent." - To say that I'd say you weren't paying attention. While of course - like any other player- he didn't play 100% every play (no one does) - when Clowney wasn't pressuring the QB or sacking the QB, he was forcing quick passes, or forcing a team to run to the other side of the field effectively taking his side of the field away from the offense of the opponent. I've seen few defensive ends force as many bad passes or interceptions as did Clowney did last year.
Clowney only needs to avoid injury to be the 1st player taken next spring.

The only reason why Clowney gets more AIR time than JPP is because of what conference he plays in. JPP played at USF. Of course he's not going to get the air time a SEC player gets.. you are talking out the side of your beak right now. Clowney is TERRIBLE against the run minus the ONE big tackle all season against Michigan I have saw teams countless times run AT him.. he runs himself out the play every time. case in point go watch the LSU game. and the FLORIDA game and tell me where Clowney was. I'll wait for your reply.

never heard why Denard Robinson didn't play in the bowl game against USuC. Not implying it would have changed the outcome, just curious as to why I never heard. I'm usually pretty up on injuries, academic ineligibilities, etc. but never heard about Denard. As for my two cents about Clowney, the boy is beast. I hate that he is a coot, but there is no denying that he's the most dominant player in college ball right now.

better at QB in the west coast style of offense that Michigan runs. Robinson only fits into RichRod's style of offense, and even in that offense his passing ability still was very suspect.

Did you watch the UT or LSU game or the Outback bowl….
Mar 7, 2013, 5:16 PM
[ in reply to You are partly correct ] |
|
other than his sack/fumble against UT, he did nothing in that game, which was the main reason why UT had a chance at the end of the game. Until, the play he was unblocked and forced a fumble, he was doing nothing against Michigan. If Clowney was doing more when he wasn't getting sacks, then you coots would have easily beat UT and Michigan, instead of the game going down to the last drive. And the LSU game is the main example of his smaller size and his ineffectiveness against the run. LSU ran the ball straight at Clowney the whole game, and Clowney was huffing and puffing against LSU in the mid way point of the 2nd qtr.
Like I said before, Clowney is a great player, but he still has much to improve on. And while he is a great player he isn't the transformative player the ESPN hype machine makes him to be.

Clemson just takes fewer students. They aren't attracting any more high quality students, USC just takes a few thousand borderline students making their numbers look worse.
Take the top 1000 in each incoming class and I'd be willing to bet they are very similar.

SCU takes about 35,000 below the borderline students in...
Mar 5, 2013, 12:22 AM

seriously to get into SCU you only have to have a 2.0 gpa in high school. Fact: Clemson's incoming students have much higher gpa's and higher SAT scores than incoming students at SCU.
The only degrees at SCU worth anything are their international business degree and their medical degrees, all the others are about the same as getting a GED. A few months ago I met a coot grad that got a bachelors in political science, but has a job working landscaping for a one truck landscaping company. I've met hundreds of coot grads over the years that have jobs that don't even require a HS diploma to work at said job.

Actually, the legislated minimum requirement for admission is a 3.0 and 1000 SAT. Out-of-state students at SC already average higher SATs, mostly because SCHC and Capstone attract higher-caliber students with their scholarship packages than Calhoun does.

So a landscaping job is a stepping stone to graduate school

hahahahaha, you coots never cease to amaze me with your idiotic comments. Oh, you just helped me prove another point about SCU. They're building new law school facilities at SCU, even though the state of South Carolina already has too many lawyers (many who can't find work). Explain to me why would you invest money into a program that is very limited in it's job opportunities. I guess your law school grads can get the same landscaping jobs that your poli sci majors get. Oh wait, they will have to compete with Mexicans, Guatamalans, El Salvadorans, and Hondurans for those jobs. Wow, you just really proved my point about how worthless an SCU degree is. Your graduates have to compete with uneducated immigrants from Mexico and Central America.
Seriously, stick to enjoying your recent wins over us than trying to talk about academics.

what the heck are you talking about, I said that a degree like Political Science doesn't lead to jobs no matter where you graduate from unless you want to work in Washington or in the State House
It's not surprising someone couldn't find a real job in this economy with just a Political Science degree. People get political science degrees so that they can go to law school or graduate school.
It has nothing to do with where the degree came from, it an issue of what skills and knowledge comes with the degree. A political science degree (regardless of what school it came from) comes with no skills and knowledge of a very specific subject that does not lead to many jobs. The same can be said about most liberal arts degrees.

My advise to all prospective college students...get a degree where the JOBS are, for example, anything medical...

People get good paying jobs all the time that aren't related

to their degrees. Some times having a degree impresses an employer enough to hire you, even though your degree may not be directly related to the job. Again you're proving my point. Prospective employers take a look at an SCU degree, that is outside of the international business program and medical program, and take it with a grain of salt. That's totally different with a Clemson degree. Prospective employers know that getting any kind of Clemson degree means a whole lot.
Again, stick to enjoying your recent wins over us in Football and Baseball, and leave the academics alone.

I have plenty of Clemson friends that are looking for work - and struggle out of college.
People with liberal arts degrees are going to have to work their way up most of the time. They are not going to land a great job right out of college most of the time unless they have a connection or their degree says Harvard or something like it.
That's true in South Carolina- and true a lot of places unless you get lucky or work an internship while in school and ease right into a good job through the internship.

BTW- where did you graduate from? I haven't seen you mention it.
We are building a new law school because lawyers in South Carolina want a new law school in Columbia and are putting their money behind the project.
The number of lawyers in South Carolina is in line with other similiar states. There aren't any more laywers in South Carolina than really anywhere else. (you were incorrect)
There are fewer lawyers in South Carolina per capita than states such as
Connecticut Missouri Nebraska Iowa Idaho North Carolina etc
In fact, South Carolina ranks 52 in the United States in the number of lawyers per capita - (District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico are including in the statistics)
http://lawschooltuitionbubble.wordpress.com/original-research-updated/lawyers-per-capita-by-state/
It's illogical to state that you don't build a law school because there are "so many" lawyers in the state. That has nothing to do with anything (and it's not incorrect too)

rival's message board
not
rivals message board
the apostrophe shows possession
or it could be rivals' message board(s), but you would have to add the s, as it would be multiple message boards of rivals.
and who is arguing? Message boards are made for discussion, kind sir.

The shooting and violence and drugs you speak of are everywhere, no more prominent among the college kids in Columbia than it is in Clemson. It's the bad part of society, nothing to do with the universities. Just in December a Clemson student was shot over drugs, it's horrible no matter where it happens, just know that it happens everywhere.

The level of crime happening in Columbia and SCU isn't...

happening at Clemson. You're a fool if you believe that. I didn't bring up drugs in the first place. Drugs are done on every campus in the nation. But the level of violence at SCU, is something unique to SCU. I would feel more safer on Benedict's campus than SCU's campus. That's how bad things have gotten at SCU.
