Everybody loves you Erik

We seriously do. We love almost every coach who is a part of the history of any sport we have. Almost every coach.
But Erik don’t get it twisted. Monte Lee had similar early success.
It’s Omaha for Clemson. The standard.
All I’m saying is, they are very much acting like we’ve solidified Erik Bakich as the coach for the rest of his life. Like Dabo or something.
It’s hypothetical because we don’t know the full extent and potential of Bakich quite yet.
But my reasoning is that Clemson baseball should make Omaha year after year consistently
More often than not make Omaha is what should be happening.
Other teams do it, so you have to get with the program
Again, I have no problem at all with Erik and think he probably will get to Omaha. We just aren’t 100%.

Omaha is nice. Doing something when there is what we need. Many visits no championship. Fewer than FSU but we need to cash in

Really?
He did make a super regional.
But Monte had some batting lineups that were miles ahead of this year’s offense.
We’re a small ball offense right now. Definitely some power and ability to hit it hard through our lineup this year.
But Monte’s best teams between 2015-2019 contradict you
I’m sure you remember Monte also won an ACC Championship in his first year

If Bakich gets through year 5 and hasn’t made Omaha, then what the he** is the point of all the other success?
I mean at some point you’ve got to have a guy that can navigate the regional and super regionals.

Omaha every 3 years is reasonable....every year is impossible. I think you need to temper your expectations. I mean I was disappointed about last weekend like everyone else, but if you can't see the difference between Bakich and Lee I can't help you man. It's night and day. He took Michigan to the championship series, and he will do it with Clemson. Patience Grasshopper.

Clemson was at a significant disadvantage since the 11.7 scholly limit, and others had academic scholarships to use. The fact Clemson is going to 34 full scholarships should be a big help for Bakich if NIL doesn’t go insane for baseball like for basketball and baseball. He’s still working at a disadvantage building a pitching roster as compared to some SEC programs. Hopefully that changes because that’s the secret to getting past the Supers.

I think this is a really good observation. In the past, we could have had some really good baseball players but because of that scholarship limit, they went elsewhere. I know NIL is a factor, but raising the scholarship limit to 34 will help exponentially in building a roster full of great players.

I think your post is probably the impetus for him taking his job seriously now.

Before this, he was slacking off and didn't understand the expectations.
Thank you.
