Every returning offensive player has regressed this yr

Except 2 guys: Renfrow (he's basically stayed the same solid player) and Ray Ray (who's elevated his game). This is a painful fact that even the biggest Tiger homer and optimist can't dispute. The truth is that for us to get where we want to go, we've got to at a minimum get some of those underachievers to where they were last year. Fortunately for us, we've had multiple players on defense who have elevated their game to make up for the drop off offensively. Hopefully a return to form for the guys who have proven in the past that they can play better starts Sat night.

If the offensive change don't happen Saturday night, we're looking at a big L for the defense can't win this one ALONE.

last season before making up these BS "facts" to whine about. How many years in a row will it take for people to comprehend Clemson is really conservative on offense at the beginning of the year? We do it every year yet people still go full chicken little.

Nobody is saying that those guys can't get back to where they were. But so far, I've seen DW4, Cain, Tay, Hyatt, Jay G., Crowder, Leggett, Gallman, Mike W (all the guys who we have relied on and proven that they can get it done at a high level) play better in the past.
I will say though that I'd much rather see them start slow and finish fast than the other way around.

Maybe Choice is about the same. Williams has lots of drops

Mike has left about 3 TDs this year on the table with either a drop or not properly getting his feet inbounds. I've seen him play better 2 yrs ago.

Caution on this thinking:

Last year, first four games: pretty vanilla, similar numbers, for all these players, sans Williams. We improved dramatically from that point, and esp. from game 6 forward. Compare apples with apples, and be patient, then draw conclusions

Nobody is saying they can't return to old form

It's just an observation on what they have done thus far the first quarter of the season. The difference between this year and last year is that unknowns are now known because we've now seen guys do it. Watson was coming off a knee injury. We knew he was good, but we didn't know he'd be "lighting up Bama good". We didn't know Leggett would be a Mackey finalist, or that Hyatt could hold up against the nations best pass rushers, or that Jay G would be one of the best Centers in the nation after missing a year of football with mental health issues. We know for a fact they are better so we (the fans and likely coaches too) expect better.

Chill. Look at where the Tigers were this time last year. Pretty much the same. The Tigers rise to the talent they play against

Too early in the year to know. We are winning. If we start losing, I might start complaining. For now, I am just enjoying winning!

in small stage games as compared to the focus and rhythm the team had at end of last year. This team is just starting to get ramped up. I bet it catches fire this week.
