He can’t /won’t use it now. After four years of saying his model was better and cashing $33 million in checks while his head was in the sand, he can’t come out now and say he’s been wrong. He’ll have to pull a Saban and say he doesn’t like the model any longer and walk away.

He has said all along he will use it when it is appropriate. Not in a corner at all. If he says it is appropriate after this season then he will get a few guys and move on. Not nearly as dramatic as y’all make it seem.

not using these great amounts of cash? We still recruit high school fairly well. NIL potential hasn't crushed us there, so why just the transfer portal? I'll ask it this way, great WR in the portal, good WR out of high school. Which do you think Dabo recruits harder?

To the potential portal gets, that sounds like "Dabo doesn't like portal guys".

Will he actually ever think it's appropriate. I mean...seriously. Dabo isnt one to admit he's wrong. It's obvious we needed help at wr, O line, dB, qb. The only teams that didn't use the portal? Clemson and the service academies. If he thinks this team is complete without portal assistance than we're screwed.

He might have to.... If we keep playing like this he won't be able to recruit enough to fill the roster.
That's loss mode talking. The reason why there are 12 teams in the playoff is because they finally recognize that some teams stumble early and get better as the year goes on.
How many teams with a loss over the years ended up in your mind as a team that should have been in the national championship game?
I can think of one right off the top of my head. This loss won't keep us out of the ACC Championship. We might not get better, but that is defeatist talk.

Our fans really need to realize that it takes a bunch of money to get the top players from the portal and our NIL bank just don't have that bunch of money needed to get the top portal players to Clemson. If a Tiger fan has a business, the fans could donate 5 bucks each for that business to donate that money to the portal in that business name, and we could pull our biggest needs from the top players in the portal. Without a big NIL account, the portal is totally useless for Clemson, and that's fact bc if we can't pull the top high dollar recruits from the portal it does Clemson no good bc the middle to lower talented players isn't any better than what we already have with our 3 string players...

Give me a break dude. You’re telling me Clemson is the only school in the country that can’t get people from the portal?? Think about it… in this state the coots, Winthrop, wofford, Charleston southern, coastal Carolina could get ppl from the portal but freaking Clemson can’t? ########

Grisham is the lowest hanging fruit to trim. However, I don’t see Spliler or Richardson as doing anything special with their groups either. Then there’s Riley. Way over paid for this stale offense, and his development of Klubnik and Vizzina into atleast compentent QBs is very lacking. I personally think Riley will ultimately be viewed as Dabo’s worst hire during his HC tenure. I don’t think he did enough homework to decide the future of the offense. Was an Air Raid guy really the right direction? There’s so much more innovative offenses in college ball today. Route trees, exploiting mismatches, etc.

Because he said he retired due to the landscape of football. And he is far from retired, he still has office at football headquarters and is on Gameday. He is paid around $500k to keep a pulse on the Bama team.
