EU tariffs delayed till 7/9

Trump just needs to remain silent and be thought a fool, he just keeps opening his pie hole to prove it.
The rest of the world would be better off ignoring his little tantrums and tweets. Better yet just call his bluff cause the as the old saying goes he ain’t got no clothes. We on the other hand gotta hope the Senate finds some testicular fortitude and shoots down the big beautiful debt bill passed by the House.

He will cave. Always does. They can't ignore him though. Maybe they can pretend they are though.

Trump-47 has the leverage - and he is using it

The EU had, in response to the Arky stage tariff negotiations, believed that they were on a glide path towards working down the 20% tariffs (again, that being the in-process tariff benchmark from the early rounds of negotiations).
Per their usual behavior, the EU countries then proceeded to diddle around and work like bureaucrats. ‘Working like bureaucrats’ means working at a leisurely pace with the expectation that everything was back to normal, with America being the chump again.
Trump-47 don’t play that. He threatens a 50% tariff with June 1 implementation date. The EU bureaucrats, not having learned their lesson the first time, revert to their delaying and ‘let’s talk it out over the next 6 months’ tactic.
Tick tock tick tock. June 1 approaches and no indication that ‘more talks’ I.e., delaying tactics without a deadline target. The EU blinks.
Now, the EU promises to have a serious counter proposal but will need until July 9 to get it done. Trump happily agrees to this, and as a gesture of good faith postpones implementation of the 50% tariffs.
This, my friends, is textbook of how the negotiator with the leverage (e.g., America in this case) negotiates.
Class dismissed.

They know as soon as a Dem possibly gets back in office in 2028 they will be able to revert right back to screwing us on tariffs so they might as well continue to delay as long as possible and Trump seems to keep falling for their fake "negotiations" for some reason. He should implement them and not waver until there's a signed agreement with them that is a good deal for the US. Falling for their delay tactics is a mistake.

Weren't we told the tariffs would bring us great prosperity? If so, why delay them. Implement them now! The tariffs also we were told would help to bring back manufacturing. Let's do it!
Trump also espoused the idea of the tariffs serving as the External Revenue Service making the IRS, essentially not necessary.
He keeps teasing us instead of giving us the magnificent gift of tariffs.
I'm all for better deals for American goods gaining entry into other countries, but this bipolar method of negotiating thus far is not producing big beautiful results.
How many deals have been consummated since Trump started this process? For our sake, I can only hope that he is somehow successful, but the approach thus far is not encouraging.

"Art of the cave"!
All joking aside, this appears to be turning point, the rest of the world cannot in good faith negotiate with someone who changes his mind every two days. All because we buy more of the stuff they sell than sell less of the stuff they buy.
