You do realize that the article was written by someone for AP and not ESPN right? If you at the top of the article it'll say who the author is and it says Associated Press. Just throwing that out there.

Reports are made by reporters at NFL, MLB, college football games, etc. and posted on various websites including ESPN.com.
No one is going to read all that copy, let alone edit it.
And it is a simple mistake in a sports report. Hardly worth freaking out about, but then this is TigerNet where freaking out seems to be the modus operandi.
