Because that is the kind of guy he really is. I hope that he doesn't waste much time on trying to get a job that cam make mush out of a smart brain. Like I've already said, Eric isn't a guy that has to play FB to make a lot of money in his life. And he won't need help getting up and down by the time he is 45/50 years old. Not being drafted could have been a miracle for him!!! He can lose some weight and get really healthy and live for a lonnnnnnng time making plenty of money without turning his brain into jello banging his head into other 325lb guys for 8 or 10 years!!!

He has been the very best team spokesman and commentator I ever saw on a college team. What a class act he always is! He has a potential fortune awaiting him with a sports network somewhere. IMO

If anyone deserves a shot at NFL football it is Eric Mac Lain. A good man of solid character and reliable protection on the offensive line.

If he doesn't get a shot in the league, he should step directly into the broadcast booth as a color guy with a fast track to replacing Coach Munson. He would be the perfect tip o' the hat to Jim Phillips. The New Voice of the Tigers.

That would be great! I would love to hear him call a game. He has always been great in interviews. Plus it's not to hard to follow up Munson lol.

Nothing but IIRC, these undrafted free agent signings go on for about a week.

I think that Eric is most likely getting his emotions square away and waiting for the dust to settle before he makes any final decisions. He is a very smart and mature guy with a very good foundation, and he ain't saying nothing until he is sure of the direction he wants to take his life down. Free agency I think would give him a chance to at least perform for a few coaches to see how he really stands up against NFL talent. What ever he ends up doing, if it isn't FB, I'm very sure that Eric will be successful. He's a jock with a really smart brain, and very well spoken. And he really don't have to turn his brain into mush playing FB for a living. If I could play FB and was as smart as he is, I would only play through one contract to put some money in the bank. Then I would find employment that I could make a great living in!!!
