It was a great run. Better than I would have dreamed as a student during the Tommy West years.
Never thought I would see one national championship. The second was just gravy.
We all saw this coming.
No team can be elite without use of the transfer portal. We got beat by players who came into the team via transfer, but Dabo did not believe in it.
High potential WR recruits do not pan out and/or transfer and there are no talented veterans to step in. Instead, we have Drew Swinney lining up at X during the potential game winning drive.
We lose starting lineman and there is a huge drop off due to minimal depth. The lack of depth also shows up in special teams, which were crucial in both losses.
Teams are able to repeat plays that work over and over and over, because our coordinators are not ready for the big time yet and get exposed. Loyalty turned to nepotism.
It was sad to see DJ fail. As a parent, that is hard on the young man and I wish him the best next season, but it cannot be at Clemson.
Start Cade versus Carolina and in the bowl game. Maybe he just isn't ready yet and doesn’t give us the best chance to win, but he can’t be worse than 8/29 for 99 yards…
2023 begins tomorrow.
Play the young guys. Let the transfer players walk and the NFL guys sit if they want.
See where the holes are and fill them through the portal. Admit the DC hire was the wrong move and cut bait. Get a big time name and don’t wait. Same for OC.
Fans…Obviously we expect more and are disappointed. If you want change, keep those checkbooks open for TI, DOC, or IPTAY. Can’t really complain about our NIL deficit if we aren’t chipping in.
While I’m ranting, kids, stop running on the field. It’s embarrassing.
Who would be more likely to go? Streeter or Goodwin?
I know this won’t be popular, but I would love a guy like Manny Diaz. Defensive guy with some HC experience and could bring in some fresh ideas, but ultimately he may be perfectly happy at Penn State. Probably will get another head coach shot and could be holding out for that.
Randy Bates at Pitt is a good fit too.
Overall, I’d really like to see an established DC with some HC and maybe even some NFL experience.
