Very oaky. Strong wood finish. Normally a Four Roses guy but saw this bottle for $30 so what the hey. Wow is it ever different. Anyhoo I’ve had a few now and was wondering…..
Is bourbon an acquired taste? I’m mean I have liked it as far as I can remember…maybe 3 or 4 years old.

Turkey is good. I never really tasted much other than the ethanol though.

I think the 101 is a bit better than the regular WT. I do tend to like 100+ proof bourbons though, so maybe it’s not to everyone’s liking.

The lower proof bourbons almost ALWAYS beat the high proof stuff when you are sipping them straight.

Just had a bottle of Penelope Toast, was a gift , distilled in Indiana if I remember, my neighbors and I sipped it over the weekend watching football, I recommend giving it a try, we enjoyed it.

I also recommend Brothers Bond as well! Not very very popular but really good on the rocks. It’s got a nice oaky taste as well!

Like Elijah Craig and drink it mostly because finding Buffalo Trace in Colorado is almost impossible. I think bourbon is something of an acquired taste. Finding the one you like and afford is the thing.

The trace around here is being price gouged. It’s easier to find now but your paying $60+ for a liter when it’s only worth about $40 a liter (imo)

Buffalo Trace ($29.00) and Eagle Rare ($45.00) can be had here in Alpharetta. I'm headed to Denver in two weeks...should I pack a bottle of BT?

Is bourbon an acquired taste? I’m mean I have liked it as far as I can remember…maybe 3 or 4 years old. Bourbon wasn't something for which I had to acquire the taste. In 2022, I took my first sip of bourbon neat, and liked it immediately. That bourbon was Uncle Nearest small batch.
Since then, I've tried 40-50 other bourbons to compare flavor profiles and to determine my taste preferences.

I’m currently a big fan of 1792. Tried it for the first time this year. Definitely worth trying.

Grabbed a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel this past weekend, and it is nice! Very smooth for 100 proof and worth the little extra over Small Batch.
