Early thoughts on Auburn...

Both defenses are top 5 in the country imho. Both qb's will be in their first huge game. Home crowd helps us eke one out in a defensive struggle. 17-13 CU. Turnovers and special teams could be key!

Is Auburn really Top-5 in the country? I dunno. Like us they played a very incomplete opponent.
Their DL looks very good, though they're going to miss Mont Adams and Carl Lawson.
Their LB's struggle in space and seem very mediocre.
Their DB's look pretty good.
Keep in mind they played their frontline guys pretty much all game against Georgia Southern; they didn't really dip into their bench much.
Against Georgia Southern they were literally bringing 9 guys into the box because they knew GS couldn't throw. You can watch the full game on youtube; some Auburn fan posted it there. Watch their safeties; they were literally cheating up within 10 yards of the LOS pre-snap. Try that with us and it's a house call.

their safeties played at 10 yds b/c that's how Steele plays

the option.
He did the same thing here against GT. I always thought he game planned GT very well. He sat safeties at 8-10 yds ands they were screaming downhill when they got a low hat run read.
Thats why you saw what you saw against GSU. They won't do that to us.

Yeah. We all know how well he played against GT. Them and WV are why he's not here anymore.

he actually schemed really well against GT--

they did break a few big ones, but if you go back and watch those games, we would shut them down, get them in 3rd and long a bunch, then have a breakdown somewhere...
we didn't play very well offensively either most of the time
I do think BV plays the option better, but I always thought Steele game planned GT really well

Auburn is either going to give the nation a blueprint on how

to defend us... or what not to do...
The main question is... Will they commit an extra guy in the box to offset Kelly Bryant's running threat. If they do, we're going to be 1 on 1 somewhere on the outside with Cain, McCloud, Higgins, Renfrow, etc...
If they try to stop it with their front, w/o committing an extra guy, and they can't, they will be trouble.
I think the gameplan will be to get KB 15+ designed carries. Make no mistake, he is a different runner than DW4. If they commit an extra guy, we have to make them pay with all the other speed we have.

If both defenses are what we think they are you have to give the advantage to the home team.

I saw an offensive line that struggled to block GA Southern and a QB that looked like he couldn't avoid pressure and telegraphed his passes. I think Auburn will struggle to score. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot, this should be a double digit win.

One other takeaway I failed to mention was the quick start to our offense that we didn't see for weeks last year. I think k this team is facing less pressure this year as reigning champs. I know it was Kent state but I was encouraged.

My take is AUB lets KB pass ... and pays for it

Looking for Milan Richard to have a nice game and KB to hit at least one long bomb. No. 13 will also come up big. AUB hangs around but goes down 34-23. Clemson special teams continue to improve ... Go Tigers!
