Dabo has to clean up his staff. Way too many coaching issues out there today. That said man I'm glad they pulled it off, and ugly win is still a dang win. Keep focus on the season and deal with the distraction of coaching change later.

Yes we are 8-2 by beating up a bunch of high school teams and a decent Pitt team with a backup QB. We aren't as bad as FSU but we aren't great either. At least 9-3 is better than 8-4 but I can't stomach losing to the shamecocks. I don't want Dabo to go but Wes, Tyler, and Eason I wouldn't miss.

The complaints aren't predicated onvan expectation of going unbeaten every year ... but rather the quality and consistency of play over and against potential. The team is poorly coached ... routinely.
Not saying that things would definitely be better off w/o Dabo. That's hard to say. But this debate is definitely not about unfair expectations.

Yes, it's true that we aren't always going to be elite. It's also true that in and amongst the legitimate criticisms there will always be a certain contingent who cannot accept that, and will freak out over all losses.
But it's also true that those who do accept it will notice when there is underperformance that goes beyond the normal ebbs and flows of time and roster turnover. When people notice how consistently inconsistent a team is, and how certain trends (some slow, some more swift) are obtaining over time, across multiple
years, coordinators, and rosters ... those observations most certainly not predicated on unfair expectations like perpetual eliteness or perpetual unbeaten seasons.

It's not an underperformance. In the last four years, the team is 38-11. That includes two bowl wins and a conference title. Would I like it be better? Sure. Is it underperforming? No.

All levels of analysis aren't reducible to Ws and Ls in a vacuum. How well a team is coached and how consistently they adhere to or veer from that standard matters.

That’s fact. Lville/VT/Pitt were bad games, just very poor play against teams farrrrrr less talented. Backup QB leads team to lead after 58 minutes, but I’m not allowed to be a bit less than enthusiastic about that ? Lol I don’t understand this content with superior talent in ACC and still squeak by these bad teams

Any coach that wants to win the way CDS use to wanna win. He has softened like pudding and no longer has a drive to get to the top.
It’s obvious. He simply lacks what he once had or how else would you credit this mediocre effort for 4+ years now. It’s not just players or coaches, it’s everything to do with the team. No depth at all. Lack of discipline. No physical play. Just soft like Charmin
We need a presence who fails to accept a mediocre effort in a very poor conference with literally NO good teams. None! Miami is a sham, I’m pretty sure they have 3 losses but 2 umpiring crews screwed the other team. SMU first year and haven’t lost yet and I’m pretty sure they have been a below average team for years now.
It’s lunacy not to expect better from this team. Bench QB’s shouldn’t lead a drive to take the lead late in 4th quarter but it happened. Thank you Cade for responding 👏👏. CDS needs to figure it out or the game has passed him by, nothing more needs to be said. Content, worse thing ever as a coach

every year, even though we actually only did that ONCE. These fools do not seem to realize, but Dabo does, as soon as that ruling that allows schools to directly pay players goes into effect, Clemson will be playing on a much more level field than we are now. I believe that happens prior to the start of next season. So, as the OP said, Idjits, cool your jets, sip on your Bud Lights, lust after Dylan Mulvaney, and leave the football commentary alone, help is on the way.

1) If I think it's hard to say whether we'd be better off without him, then it **necessarily** follows that I don't have either A) a settled opinion on firing him; nor B) A replacement in mind. If I'm not sure, then what sense does it make to assert o assume that I would. To say one isn't sure is to acknowledge no settle position on it. Duh. You're confusing me with someone who says we'd definitely be better off.
And
2) I'm talking solely about whether we'd be better off w/ or w/o him going forward. That isn't solely settled by the past. We're definitely better off having had him then not. But that's a distinct question.

with bowden with less talent and less pay roll for coaches. the whole argument of the past vs now is asinine..fact is we went from elite to where we are at now not elite under dabos reign. his inability to adapt to the times and his thinking of players should not get paid is killing recruiting.

Call me crazy but this team severely underperforms wayyyy too regularly. Coaching is a big factor and it’s multiple years of HIGH level talent not getting it done. Coaching plays a big role in a teams performance.
