With or without Flagg, the player's jerseys have Duke on them but everyone else has a little spring in their step. If we get by SMU tonight, could this finally be our chance?

The ACC tourney means more to Clemson than Duke.

Yes, Duke would love to win ACC tournament. But they are more interested in getting healthier for a run at the nattie. As Clemson has never won the ACC - and Duke has many - it means more to us. I would guess that Duke should hold out players for the rest of the tournament. So, might just be our year. (Past due.)

Duke won't hold out players against us - not when we've already beaten them once this year. The only way they would is if they had a 20 point lead with 3 minutes to play.

I don't see why they would play Flagg again

in this tournament. They should rest him for the week and give that ankle some time to heal up. They can probably even rest him for their 1st round NCAAT game. Maybe have him on the bench with it taped up in case just in case of an emergency.

I don’t think Duke will hold out any player except for Flagg. I believe if the injury is anything but minor he sits. If they lost without Flagg, especially in the finals, they’d be given a pass on the loss and still get a #1 seed. Their ultimate goal is a Natty and they need a healthy Flagg to accomplish that.

We will disagree. There is absolutely no upside for Duke to risk the natty for a Conference tournament championship. They measure in nattys.

I was told Clemson usually chooses to "rest" the team during the ACCT, so that they can be rested for the NCAAT.

We have to get by Louisville, too. That will be just as challenging as Duke w/o Flagg.

True. There are only 3 teams with a pulse in the ACC. Duke is hurt, Louisville, and Clemson. It shows how bad the ACC has gotten when it would be almost impossible for any other team to win the tournament. (Injuries, suspensions, etc.).

Yeah probably our best chance in a long time, possibly ever, but Louisville is still out there and they've played as well as we have. That'll be a heck of a hurdle to get over.

The priority for both..

should be a methodology focused on what will best ensure they survive and advance in the NCAA tournament; as all of you well know..winning the ACC tournament is no longer a requisite for an invitation to the big dance-

This is sports. Play to win. We will go all out. Duke will play whoever is healthy.
