Texas has the easiest way to the final four.
If we beat Texas, we do.
Nothing against ASU, but if we weren't the 12 seed they would have been.
I don't know if there is a dominant can't lose team that is the obvious favorite but Oregon is the closest thing to it.

As it should be. The really should reseed afyer the 1st round. If we beat Texas we should play Oregon next. This seeding system is jacked up. And will be changed before next season.

greatly value the opportunity to plan travel arrangements ahead of time.
I also don't see them just giving the teams ranked 3 and 4 the byes given how this season turned out. This year Texas and Penn State finished 3rd and 4th. If they had byes, the SEC and Big 10 championship games would have been essentially meaningless. I don't think the commissioners and tv executives want to devalue those (money-making) games.
My guess is that the next change we see is that we go to 14 teams, and the top-2 get byes. The top-5 conference champions will still get automatic bids, but only the top-2 will get byes. No other seeding changes will be made.

It could be #6 or #7 though instead of #1.
Also, I don't really understand how Texas is #3 to begin. Don't get me wrong, they're a very good team who will probably beat us, but they don't have a single win against a team in the top-25 this season.
Our draw is tough, but it could definitely be more difficult. Our second round opponent (AZ State) is probably the weakest team in the field. I assume we'll be a favored if we somehow defeat Texas.

If Clemson can somehow manage to get past Texas tomorrow, we will absolutely beat ASU in the Peach Bowl on New Years Day.

I don't know what you've seen from us to think we would easily beat ASU. I'd fancy our chances alot more than this game at Texas, but I don't think we'd be anything more than a very slight favorite.

Just remember #5 ain't really that it's espn & sec rating for promotion and such...#4 is more like # 16 on life support and we know about #1...Now that the SEC, BIG pig and ESPN have what they want they can make 'a silk purse out of a sows ear' and make fools put their money init!

the 3 seed right now awaiting the winner of Penn State and whoever they would've been paired with (ASU?).
That would've been a much, much more advantageous situation than what we find ourselves in now.
