Stopped at Burgers & Barley in Rock Hill, 2 cheeseburger's only add-on was wife had bacon. We both had water to drink. Bill, $47. 2 days later in Gastonia stopped at Captains Cap Seafood, wife had broiled flounder and I had all you can eat fried flounder. We both had baked sweet tater's, salad bar and water. Bill, $26. Me thinks sumtin rong.

Man you people are special. This is equally as dumb as blaming a single person for gas prices.

Also, I had no idea Folgers was still making horrible coffee.

Maybe find somewhere other than Publix to buy it. That’s probably your most expensive choice. Actually surprised you haven’t canceled them as “woke” lol.

Well the old man has been releasing it from the national reserves to bring gas prices down in order to help with votes. The DemocRATS are pulling out all the stops to stay in control.

First day in office he started attacking the oil industry. Cut supply, demand increases, prices increase. So easy to understand a member of the Lunatic Fringe can understand it.

It's not just the administration. It's also congress and the fed. They all wanted to throw trillions into the economy during covid when they did not have to spend. This means they simply printed money. More money chasing the same goods leads to inflation. The annual budget also impacts inflation as borrowing by the government has the same impact as printing money. So every president and every member of congress over the last ~ 40 years are to blame. Don't worry, we will react to the debt bomb when it goes off in a few years when it is too late to manage without a lot of pain.

they didn't have it to spend because the prior administration slashed taxes with no plan to replace those funds.

Steak houses haven't changed prices much that I've seen. Sams/costco haven't gone up much either. Fast food joints have jacked prices up the last few years, significantly above inflation. In your case, Burgers and Barley has cheeseburgers for $12-17, so it looks like you may have just gotten the wrong ticket? You should have paid around $35 depending on tip. Which is still high, but not $47.

No, he got the right ticket. A couple of $15 burgers, $3 drinks, 10% tax or more on prepared food, 3% credit card surcharge and you are easily at $47

My son's first job was bussing tables at The Captains Cap(Belmont location).

It's still old school...dated quite a bit, but the salad bar is back which makes it worth eating.

Sounds a lot like 5 Guys. Don't like the fact that they all but force you to tip when you use a card. The cashier stands there and stares at you while you make the decision.

Wait, what? Their most expensive burger on the menu is the fried

May 31, 2024, 9:08 AM

mac burger, which is way more advanced than what you say you guys got (American cheese | Fried mac & cheese patty | Bacon- onion ketchup | Red onion | Green leaf lettuce | Tomato | Texas toast) for $17. And it comes with a side.

So by my math, including taxes, it seems odd that $47 was the bill. Are you sure they didn't ring you up incorrectly?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And I focused on the wrong thing, all you can eat flounder, another
