Don't think you've seen this

Was cleaning up pic's on my phone and saw this one. Taken by a neighbor with his old GPS unit several years ago. Have had some folks says there is nothing in the picture to gauge size by so it's prolly a large house cat. No way....look at the length of that tail. What say you?

Tough to say. I would say a cat. It's impossible to know though.

I would bet that is just a big ole Tom cat that had his man hood removed when he was a kitten, and that boy just kept growing. And I have seen that happen before with Tom cats that was neutered at a very young age...

I would say house cat. Only as tall as grass on side of road and Black are a rare color in big cats.

I saw a black panther on our farmland in the Providence Community many years

ago. Everyone pooh poohed me, just like they are probably doing you about your picture. Not only did I see the big cat, I HEARD it, from across a plowed field, just before I turned and ran, fueled by a huge adrenaline spike. I had a 22 rifle with me, which would have been not much help if the panther had gotten close to me. This was over fifty years ago, so nobody is ever going to convince me they can't be around these parts now.

In the lowcountry, dog deer hunters profess to seeing black panthers all the time. Yet they dont appear in game trail cams ever, kind of like Bigfoot. But there are very dark almost black bobcats sometimes which I believe is what most believe.
My buddies father was state turkey biologist for 30yrs and laughs when he hears about black panthers. One day he got call about black panther in a shed, thinking it was a big cat or bobcat, he charged in there and came face to face with a black bear. Said he wasn't ready for that, luckily the bear bolted and all was good.

I would say most likely a cat but that tail is super long though. Unnaturally long for a house cat. It would be cool if it wasn’t though. A buddy of mine swears to this day he saw one in the woods years ago.

We have had cats for many years and I have never seen a cat with a tail that long.

Look at the size of the weeds around him. That animal is no more than 12 inches tall.

If the pic isn't tampered with then that's a Panther or Jaguar. I've seen a lot of pics of house cats and this isn't saying house cat to me.

Well, "Black Panther" isn't really a species.... it's a pigmentation wiithin the genus Panthera, which includes leopards, jaguars and pumas.
In this case, it would most likely be a puma (cougar/mountain lion) that migrated from the West, but it's also possible that a jaguar migrated from South America. I don't believe that a leopard crossed the Atlantic....

There's an Eastern Cougar variant that is rare, but known to exist. You can find plenty of articles and statements by so-called "experts" in wildlife departments who deny the existence of the big cats here, but so many sightings have been reported in NC and SC by knowledgeable hunters that to me there has to be some truth in the reports. A pigmentation change in one of those is entirely possible.
I told people around Orangeburg in the late '50s and early '60s that there were wild pigs, bobcats and alligators in the Edisto Swamp, but nobody believed me...... but I was on that river nearly every day in a canoe and I knew what I had seen (other than snakes)...
