Don't know how, I mean the guy did win the Heisman, but

Jan 14, 2020, 10:09 AM

I WAY underestimated Burrow. I still think he is extremely cocky and arrogant, but he really backed it up and earned my respect as a player last night. I guess not having seen him play much, and seeing the stats this year vs last year, I attributed a lot of his eye popping numbers to "system". Props to Burrow and LSU. Magical season.

Edit: This post was meant to be congratulatory and complimentary to Burrow; I probably should have left out the second sentence, as many seem to be fixing on it. My point is that Burrow is a MUCH better player than I gave him credit for. Anyone else?

DW4 was/is super cocky too, doesn't take away the talent.

We can agree to disagree on that

Deshaun is less humble now than he was at Clemson, but he is still not in the same universe as Burrow in this regard. Just MHO, and I already know you disagree.

I really do not like when people who lack humility succeed..

but I can’t do anything about that. Life has a way of catching up with the proud.

I'd say Burrow is confident...not sure its cocky when you back up your accolades with play like that.

I don't know much about him, but I was really impressed with him in the Heisman presentation, and again last night after the game.

Seems like a good kid.

Good morning, ole Friend. I'm just not too convinced

about the cockiness and arrogance, but am about his talents.

I think Burrow felt he had something to prove considering his background and episode with Ohio State. I'm not so sure he wasn't surprised with LSU's season, and as it progressed, he became overeager to attain more success. Most of his facial expressions seemed to be those of an individual desparate to excel...to prove his worthiness, something I've seen in others over a long lifetime dealing with people.

He's also only 24, still a young fellow on a mission, knowing that mighty battles lay ahead. I liked his grit, determination and willingness to stand his ground during our game. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him playing pro ball with several of our boys clearly in his corner.

Congrats to him and LSU.

friend of mine that actually went to LSU and the game last

night responded to my congrats text this morning with "we definitely caught lightning in a bottle with Burrow"

I've admitted to being wrong already on thinking that our D would be able to limit their offense better than we did and they'd do the same to us and it wouldn't be the high scoring shoot out that many expected.

Burrow kept plays and drives alive and couldn't miss with his throws, he hit Chase/Jefferson in the shoulder pads in the end zone on what should have been a TD for them.
