There was a lot of speculation here that he intended to transfer.

If he intends to transfer - and I don't know that to be a fact - he might complete this semester and then make a decision. The speculation about the transfer occured because his number has apparently been given or promised to an incoming recruit.

guy is already a legend to me for the swimming teabag on the Maryland return guy. IMO he will be in a much better position to play this year with a years experience in Coach V's sysytem. Lateek has a great skill set, he just needs time to learn the system. He's not as great at "free ranging" on a play in College like he was in HS. But hey, he'll knock the dook out of you, then only to help you up so he can hit you again. He barks and bites, whole team needs more biters.
He will end up having a great career at Clemson no matter what number he wears IMO.
Team Lateek!

Speed - sure Disclpine Im not so sure. the word I hear from coaches over and over about him not playing is "trust"
But with that said - he certainly could not be worst than the 2 we had last year

Saw him and Peters at Walmart yesterday

Lets just say Peters looks like a corner, Townsend does not look like a safety. If you put him back there you open yourself up to deep throws that will go over his head. Don't think opposing OC's won't try to exploit that

Hmm just curious. What did you see to make you think that! I believe Lateek is 6'2 200-215 runs 40 around 4.5. Peters is 6'0 190-200. I don't think he his that much faster.

If Townsend is in that range, it is the 215 side and Peters is definitely on the 190 end of his range.

Townsend might be able to play nickle, but I wouldn't put him at a true safety position.
His primary issue at LB is learning the playbook, when he learns the playbook they'll trust him on the field.

nicely at the spot Christian/Blanks played this year.
What I want to know is where is Stephone Anthony at? We need him to have a great off-season, as well as Tony Steward in order to have a good defense next year.
