I think they are well coached enough to keep it close. This will be our first game in the new offense, so I don't expect things to get silky smooth. We should dominate defensively though, especially the line of scrimmage. I can see a 31-17 type of score.

we have solid defense and at least two great running backs and a mobile QB. As long as we don’t expect too much out of the passing game and cause 3 and outs or turnovers, we leave with a win and a couple of weak opponents to test out our passing game.
Week One is a game to win, not a game to show off our new aerial assault.

Not too much, but I hate a road conference game as the opener. We lurched our way through the Tech game in Atlanta. Duke is better than Tech was and it will be a more hostile environment. I'm confident we'll win, though.

I like their QB.
I like their coach.
I like the WR they have from Greenville.
But, nah, they don't scare me.
I think they went down to Miami and won(which may qualify as their best win). Or Northwestern.
They are certainly tougher now; but are still years away from Clemson.
It's great they are such a close spread! Motivation.

G.Ri has changed his philosophy slightly in each of the last 3 years at SMU and TCU. Pass heavy at SMU and run 1st at TCU.

But, Duke while yes, bringing back a bunch of skill players will be easier for the Tigers to prepare for. We know their personnel and we know their tendencies from last season(at least and that obviously could change with some self-scouting).

I think the guys in orange will be looking to make a statement especially Dabo. I don't think he will turn down the intensity even once the backups are in, normally the offense goes run heavy after the starters are pulled, dont see that happening in this game. He's going to want to show everyone the Clemson offense is back and his Riley hire was legit.

Other teams never really scare me. It’s Clemson that’s scares me. It’s not knowing what type of game the coordinators are going to call or how they’re going to adjust….. If I knew our players would be put in great situations to succeed then I’d be less worried. I don’t hold the crystal ball but I said all last season we needed to let DJ run a high school let it loose offense. We asked him to do too many things he couldn’t do. We forced him to run the Clemson offense instead of us letting DJ run a DJ offense. Wake Forest was the best example of our playcalling actually calling plays like they had confidence

Duke football doesn't scare me. Clemson football scared me.
Best illustration for this, and I'll admit it's not a perfect illustration, was when we opened against Marshall (TB was coaching). Everyone thought it would be a cakewalk- but they beat us in our own stadium on opening day.
Before last season I was convinced those days were behind us, but the question mark is bigger now than it has been for awhile. I know we should win, but I'm not as confident as I'd like to be.
