Money on these dumb scratch off loto games. I must have the worst luck. Got a $20, 2 $10, and 5 $1 scratch offs from people for Christmas and didn't win a single dollar. How is that even possible. I never by them for my self but when I receive them, you're better off just burning your money. Hopefully others have better luck than me.

I mean yes someone does but it’s basically a waste of money and you’d earn more in the stock market or buying an annuity.

My son won one thousand dollars last week. A few years ago he won 6,000. I don't know how much he has spent.

More than that very likely. They don't pay more than the lottery makes. I think its funny that people make messes scratching that stuff off and all you have to do is scan the barcode and know in 1sec with no mess. I guess that means I am not a player.

That ruins the fun of it. I specifically play and enjoy the crosswords and bingo, and the slight thrill of scratching off each little letter or number in hopes of winning is what makes it fun and keeps me playing.

NC used to have a ticket that said 1 in 10 were winners of either $50 or $100. I won $100 a couple of times and $50 a couple of times. Seems the odds on that one were too good and they discontinued it.
Had an uncle that won $250K on a scratch-off. Probably brought him back close to even.

If you buy a ticket you have a 50% chance of winning - you either win or you don’t. If you don’t buy a ticket you have a 0% chance of winning. This is the math that pays the salaries of all the lottery commissions and pays for community college tuition and some university tuition which, coincidentally, goes up the amount of the lottery scholarships.
