Nothing in the spring game, nothing in the press conferences and nothing of what was seen at practice means anything come tomorrow.

true and I always say the coaches dont either. They know what they want to see but weeks of going against your own team doesnt show what you get versus another opponent.

True, unlike the previous 3 years, this 2024 team is an unknown. But we know some of the pieces.
4 things I look forward to:
1. Mafah is way stronger than Shipley at running it 4 yards up the gut for 1st.
2. Cade improves year over year.
3. Antonio Williams is back.
4. In my humble opinion, Garrett Riley is a genius. He sees the whole field and is nimble to change things up. I'll eat my words if I'm wrong on this.
3 things that concern me:
1. Tristan Leigh's A game is solid but nothing special. He has no B game. When he's weak on the field he's lost and folds over.
2. We don't blitz anymore, defense has been "great on paper" but why rely on the CB to tip it out of the air when you're facing a QB known to panic? Know your enemy and spam the blitz when appropriate.
3. Special teams. Nuff said.
A lot of unknowns and we're sure to be rough around the edges, but that may work in our favor and catch Georgia off guard.
My prediction: Clemson 31 - Georgia 28.

I think your #4 is still TBD. Riley has not lived up to the hype so far and we know what UGA did to his TCU offense. We gave him a pass because he had not had time to recruit the right players for his system. This needs to be the year we see his full impact.

Designing the roster takes more time than that. "Full impact" will be more of a 3-5 year thing, and luck (whether a player for a critical role commits to Clemson, how a player's HS talent translate to college, do the players gel) is always a huge factor as well.
Let's not forget that Dabo only hit his stride after 3-4 years. Hope for the best but expect to be patient.

Wes is known for sending one more than they can block on blitzing downs to make the QB make quick reads.
Beck usually does that well but he didn’t see anything like our front 7 last year either.
Would be wise to keep a safety over top until we feel each other out.

Yep, agree. It kills me that we feed ESPN by reading all their prognostications. They don't coach a team, they don't play the game (anymore). What they do is like paracyte. there really is not reason for most of their shows other than people give them credence with their "pull it out of your butt" opinions.
Noting about last night, I wonder if the progosticators had any idea how weak some of those teams were and how strong some of the FCS teams were. What I did note was how much advertisement there is. If there was so much as a questioned call they broke to 5 minutes of commercials...friggin terrible.
