We will not be tested until the ACCCG, probably with UNC.
Hopefully, we keep a #1 spot and play an easy Semi like LSU did this year. I think our O was a little beat up still from OSU. We didn't look as fast and fluid. Ross and Higgins were a half step slow.

I also think Louisville is a team to watch which could jump up and challenge us. Other than those two, we should not have too many issues in the regular season.

narrative in college football is shifting. Just winning ugly against inferior teams will no longer be enough to prop up your ranking. I think next years team takes these lessons to heart, and shows up ready to dominate every week, regardless of competition. We should have as good a shot as anyone in the country of winning it all again next year. Even numbered years, baby!

Defense will be fine. We need to develop an offense that is not centered around a couple players and a handful of plays. I don't mean this critically of who we have because I love them, but if we had an OC that was as "creative" as our DC, nobody could touch us.

if I were the OC, I'd watch as much tape as I could of top offenses, steal some plays, and use our "easy" schedule to practice. I feel like we did that a little, but then forgot about it in the playoffs.
Certainly we have enough studs to get some guys open. When a defense is keying on two guys, we have to find ways to keep them honest. To not have more routes for Amari, Ladson, Overton, and Ngat is a shame. These are talented guys.
I was encourged by the plays to Galloway. This is something we have missed for quite a while. Seems we have abandoned the center of the field and depend on the home run throw way too much.

Are these not the same OC's who beat the best college football team ever 44-16? Just because you lost one game, don't go jump off a cliff. Dabo's plan always works in the long run!

and destroy everyone but then only beat Team X (pick one, say Louisville) by 7. Drop to 4th and stay behind SEC team(s), Ohio St, etc. until the playoff. Trevor disappears from Heisman conversation.
But we win them all again.
We get sent to the farthest possible playoff site. Win and get to finals where we are matched up against "the best team ever".

I like our chances with one caveot. Our offense is addressed, or specifically the playcalling. Obviously, our offense underperformed and we weren't as sharp at the end of the season. No excuse for underutilizing ETN, receiver's not getting open, unimaginative playcalling, and QB accuracy all need to improve. Our defense exceeded expectations, our offense did not so that's where I'm coming from (I realize we blew through the ACC). I honestly think the lack of facing top competion in the ACC hurt our playcalling and execution in the CFP.
Also, DE production (or lack thereof) needs to be addressed as well. Our D-ends have dissapeared from the pass rush.

I think we get there. To win, everything comes into play, talent, playcalling, luck, calls made and not made, we will have as much if not more talent than anyone else, the question will be whether we get the most out of that talent and not make mistakes. Based on what I have seen each team has coming back, I would say Clemson and Ohio St are locks for the playoffs, then probably Bama with all that LSU is losing and heaven forbid Oklahoma again but who else will win a conference with one or no losses?

This is a historic run.
Appreciate it and don't underestimate how hard it is to sustain it.
I'd put us 50/50 for making the playoffs because we are replacing quite a bit on offense and defense and I'm not sure the schedule is good enough to get us to the playoffs with a loss.

Dear God, let the dust settle on the LSU dismantling of our team before we start crowing about next year. As fans we can speculate but I need a rest. I’m on Natty(God how I despise that slang term)overload. But to answer your question, I have my doubts about going undefeated next year if we can’t fix all of the issues LSU exposed during the beat down Monday night. Online, Dline, Trevor, Secondary....many things to try and fix.

I don't know, that is why playing like we did this past Monday was so disappointing. We were playing with house money so I expected the offense to play loose and free.
