If you’re not part of us/we that’s a problem. I’m invested in clemson university. I’ve helped run off three coaches by withholding donations and being a loud voice in the meetings. I could have a very nice beach house for my Clemson investments. When I say we, I MEAN WE!!! If you can’t, step it up!

Granted there are a lot saying we that have never donated a penny. Sure, they may be Clemson grads. They may buy single game tickets. That’s a very weak we. There are quite a few that should have a hall or building named after them!

We are at 84 (with Stellato leaving), cap is still 85 until July. We signed 15 and some will enroll early. We have 13 seniors but several of them will still have a year of eligibility. Maybe a couple of others declare for draft. Then after season a few transfers looking for more playing time.
But as of this moment, no we do not have 7 open spots. But likely to have a few after season, but not guaranteed.

There are other ways to cover those expenses now. I challenge you to find a power 4 football team with only 85 players, or not more than 105.
I milled over SMU's roster a couple days ago.. They have 123 players. UGa probably has 435.

When it changes to 105 there will be a 105 person roster and if Dabo wants to keep a walk-on then they will be placed on schollie. There will not be 135 player team rosters any longer. That is what Dabo is complaining about. He has guys that play that are Walk-ons and eventually get schollies after hard work. Those Walk-ons will not be part of the team any longer, you are either part of the 105 or you are not.
I guess you could give 100 schollies and still have 5 walk-ons but roster will be 105. Sounds like this might be the SEC approach where you have 85 schollies with 105 roster but I assume this is initially while they figure out employee status and revenue sharing. SEC will not carry fewer players on roster than other conferences thats for sure.
I say all this which is my understanding from what I have read yet none of it is set in stone. It could all change after court hearings this spring.

NCAA agreed to open it up to 105 scholarships in an attempt to control the NIL spending by limiting teams to only 105 person rosters.

Disclaimer: I have no idea this would work for guys entering in January. Right now, schools can oversign 85 and just be down to 85 by August something. Can they sign 105 in January, or pull some shenanigans by only having 85 on ship and using INL money to pay their ship in January. (That's the way some schools are handling walk-ons now.)

For everyone talking about the limits...
The numbers don't matter until the players enroll. We could have 105 committed scholarships for 2025 right now as long as only 85 are enrolled until the expansion in July.
