Would love to say yes and this has been an impressive turnaround that I attribute to coaching. If you look at the recent stretch you would have to say no. The bullpen other than last night has not done their job but you have to feel good about the future of the program if Tigers get in SEC or BIG10 and have competitive funding.

Hard to say. SCar didn’t appear to in 2010. When they were forced to put Michael Roth in as starter in their first elimination game it seemed like all but a concession of defeat. He had barely seen the field since we brutalized him in the regular season. Somehow he transformed into the Tim Tebow of college baseball - not just that night - but for the next two seasons.

If the bats stay as hot as they are right now.... it may not matter.

Not this year. But getting there would be icing on the cake...this year.

We took one of the best starting pitching staffs in college baseball history to Omaha in Benson Koch and Vinning, and our ace #1 draft choice got beaten twice. Another year we took a fantastic hitting team and couldn't hit. Another year we took good pitching and good hitting and couldn't win. So I am not sure there is a perfect formula. Just depends on who you play and how you play that day.

Agree with all your points about former teams . That and always needs lots of luck which we never have had in Nebraska and winning that first game there is huge !!

Was that the year we were down to the last three teams in Omaha, with the coots being one of the other two, and pitched an intentional revenge hit at the coot pitcher that ended up leading to our first loss, then lost the next game to the eventual champ? Maybe my memory is crazy skewed, but that's the way it got recorded into my memory.

once to be in the final, and they beat us twice, then went on to win the whole thing!

We are getting a little ahead of ourselves. One game at a time, please.

I'm not sure they have the pitching to get to Omaha but if they do, anything can happen at that point. A lot will depend on who we draw in the regional and potentially, super-regional.
