Trump’s comments from two days ago prove your statement wrong. Trump praised Putin. Trump does not oppose Putin. Trump said Putin is a genius Trump said Putin is savvy. Trump agreed with Putin in saying that Putin‘s forces moving into Ukraine are peacekeepers.
So, would you rather have Trump as president facing Putin?
Curious to see how you take that question. If you’re smart you’ll see this as a rhetorical question that requires no answer.

Putin is smart enough to know that there's a corrupt weakling in Biden, and that's why he's attacking now like he did in 2014.
Is it a coincidence that all these issues, higher prices on everything, higher crime rate, open borders, military embarrassment in Afghanistan, etc., happened under Biden?
And didn't he promise to get rid of COVID?
You don't have to be a Trump fan or a Republican to be concerned about these things.

I don't think Biden will be drawing up any war plans. That will be left to the military and economic advisors. Our presidents don't actually much in those situations other than approve.

Hey miurie lap dog, stay in your dacha today, remain loyal to your buddy Putin, Time will tell if he has made grave miscalculations.
My take is this will go pretty well for Putin in the short term, next few months.
However I thoroughly believe he has made grave miscalculations and will pay dearly in the long term, next few years. If this goes really bad for Putin at home the Russian people are going to hold him accountable. And no one should be so naïve to think that the Russian people cannot hold Putin accountable.
