We had a cheap roughing the kicker called against us but SMU declined it.

It was Running into the Kicker5 yard penalty. Wouldnt give them a first down

Yes, I know. The penalty was declined, so it did not count. But honestly, The flag should have never been thrown in the first place.

Reason for complaints: No call for the face mask on Cade with the ref standing 5 feet away in full view. The penalty would have given us a first down rather than having to punt on a critical drive late in the game while we were trying to run out the clock.

SMU is a heavily penalized team. #4 in the country, I believe. It's entirely possible that the refs missed a few of SMU's violations. They do seem to commit a bunch of violations.

They missed two facemask calls which would have kept two drives alive for us.

One on Cade when he was sacked and one of Mafah when he was tackled on the sideline.
The other was on a defensive lineman who was being held by the facemask in pursuit of SMU's QB.
