Did Biden restart work on the XL pipeline?

Gas prices still falling. Would any of the MAGAs on here care to explain since the pipeline was blamed for $5 gas? Waiting.

I filled up today @ $2.77. How is that possible when you were telling me that gas was $5 because of the XL pipeline. You got some splaining to do.

That begs a question I have had in my head for a couple of decades. Setting aside the normal economic issues of supply, demand, and world markets...
When I was a kid in the '70s, diesel was always significantly cheaper than gasoline. When did that switch and why? Because it seems as if diesel has been more expensive for, what, thirty years? There has to be a good reason, but I sure don't know what it is.

I don’t know either but I always wonder why? It seems like it would come down as gas does but it’s staying very expensive. Makes it tough on small businesses.

LOL - I guess I should have done this first. Here seems to be a neutral piece on why this is the case (from an insurance broker - so I don't think he has a political dog in the fight).
The lede: The price of diesel is higher than gas because the international demand for it is greater, it’s more heavily taxed, and recent EPA regulations have increased its refining costs. (And 2004 - a little later than I thought - was the crossover period).

Prices are dropping because of the recession and the bleak economic outlook.

Liberal idiot quiz:
Why was the pipeline cancelled in the first place?
A) to save the planet?; although multiple other pipelines throughout the world were signed off on; by Biden.
B) to put thousands of people out of work?
C) to keep his buddy Buffett transporting it by rail? (Also why he stepped in the Union fiasco)

I TOLD YOU ALREADY. Are fkn autistic or something?
"Global oil prices have fallen about 35% since June as strict coronavirus restrictions in China have kept demand weak, and as some of the world’s major economies have signaled they are heading toward a recession".

That's not why gas prices rose. However, just curious, were you glad that Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline? If so, why? Do you think Canada is going to leave that oil in the ground? Is a trans Canadian pipeline and tankers heading from the Canadian Pacific to China more environmentally friendly than Keystone?
The permitting process to drill or extract minerals in this country is incredibly costly and burdensome. It can take many years for the process to play out. The less we drill, the more the US will buy elsewhere ultimately.
Do you favor more drilling here which geriatric Joe recently promised to end or does it make more sense to outsource our oil needs to Venezuela and the Middle East?
Just trying to understand the giddiness from some, maybe not you?, over Joe's swift action on Keystone and how that is such a good thing.

Cheaper than before the war in Ukraine began.
People generally don't understand world commodity markets (or, at least, prefer to blame political bugaboos on gas prices).
Haven't we produced more than we used since the early 2010s?

No, clown, he's cited dates and prices of gas (with admittedly varying degrees of accuracy) but has never said "I lowered your gas prices." Pretty easy concept to grasp here. Read slowly if you have to.
You sure like WHATABOUTISM.

The pipeline was 10 years from completion. How did that cause the $5 gas back in the spring? Your narrative is still crap.

I'm fully aware that the cancellation of the XL pipeline had nothing to do with the $5 gas we had back in the spring, a talking point that the MAGAs were running with on here. They have now been brutally slapped down. LOL.
