DC Hiring Process Question

Dec 22, 2024, 10:29 AM

Not if, but when Goodwin is relieved of his duties, does Dabo begin a coaching search or has he already identified a replacement willing to accept the position, with a quick announcement to follow?

It will be done like the Streeter move.

I believe it would be Eason or Reed.

The hope of course is that we get a proven DC who has had success in major college football as a DC, rather than taking a risk on someone who has little to no experience in that role.

He wont say anything until he finds who he wants.

He will go out and find someone who is a successful DC right now.

IF… he finds who he wants.

Goodwin’s sub-par performance has been under the radar for an extended period. Clemson leads one of the power 4 conferences. I’d think the next DC will be a former head coach with extensive DC experience. With that, finding top DCs is an involved process, taking many months. Not to mention the selection process. It should have started some time ago.

Preferably a former NFL player and coach, ties to Clemson.... Nick Eason!
